Several days.

That was wrong.  Really wrong.  Funny, but wrong.

And for the answer to the question, you might want to check out WebMD.  They have some pretty good answers there.

I surely did okay, lasting nine days, back in the mid-1990s, when I was wandering around the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants with free medical care for all--and rare was the sight of decent and civilized plumbing.

There was no way I was going to squat like that.

The trick was to watch what one ate, and to eat very little of that.

Mahorka and weak tea pulled me through it, until I got to civilized plumbing.

I actually became a legend among the workers and peasants (although I wasn't aware of it at the time; revelation came later), who got this idea Americans don't have to do that.

A testament to my intestinal fortitude.

My intestinal fortitude is greatly in doubt at the moment.

It has been several days since anything but a watery sluice has emerged and it has me very worried.

There has been a stomach virus/flu thingy going around in our area.  That might be it as well.

Well the malady you are describing, sounds like what has attacked people around here that I know.  I would suggest keeping your fluid level up, to prevent dehydration.

I have been.

It's just too weird (I would suggest people stop reading here, trust me) that so much liquid is coming out of THERE. If you know what I mean, instead of the, um, solids... I am use to.

This past summer, I had a colonoscopy. After being cleaned out from the pre-colonoscopy preparation, I believe that it was a week before I had to go to the bathroom to rid myself of the built up excrement.

Holy crap Frank!

Sheer intestinal fortitude, assisted with a very modest diet that could starve a bird.

Intestinal fortitude is why I haven't yet freaked out over the primitives on Skins's island.

I thought you were a stockbroker....
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

That's a certainly more dramatic option.

You could just go to Walgreen's and buy a Fleet enema and do it yourself.

Or some Dulcolax and take a couple of them.....they are what gastroenterologists prescribe as part of the prep "clean-out" for a colonoscopy. Trust me...they are highly effective... :uhsure:

I've had stools so hard that a Fleet enema wouldn't go in.........  :o  (I think it was post surgical and on a lot of pain meds)
