"SEOUL—North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has died, North Korean state television said Monday.
Mr. Kim died from fatigue during a train ride on Saturday, a weeping television announcer said.
State TV also announced that Kim Jong Eun will take over as leader." http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204791104577107350219610874.html

He's DEAD, Jim!
Too Late. I was beaten to the punch!
Curses! Foiled again!
Please see the other post on this forum. It was made seconds before mine. Wah. And I wanted the glory.

Yay!

I hope Satan appreciates his wonderful Christmas gift and plays with it most enthusiastically.

I'm sure at least for now, North Koreans are breathing a sigh of relief.
Not saddened by this piece of shit's demise at all. Good riddance.

I'm sure Jimmy Carter is deeply saddened by all this. What other foreign leader is corrupt enough to meet with him and justify his bogus legacy.
-
Satan lit a welcoming bonfire just for this murdering clown.
I'd say congratulations to the starving people of North Korea but am sure the evil one's replacement will be every bit as horrible.

HELL will have to open a new branch office for the little dictator.
-
He died from fatigue?
Cool.
-
It will be interesting to see if Junior can fill those little shoes. :lmao:
Seriously though, if the Nork General Staff has any aspirations to seize power now would be the time to off Junior and take over. I guess it all depends on how deeply they are still held in the grip of fear by the secret police now that the maniacal midget is out of the picture.
It seems that for the most part the inner workings of the government of North Korea is a big empty question mark to the outside world. Weather or not a coup could actually develop and be successfully carried out remains to be seen or if it will be business as usual with a seamless transition.

Don't forget his Daddy--Kim Il Sung! :evillaugh: :fuelfire: :yahoo:

I wonder if they're going to pickle the midget and lay him out under a salad bar on permanent display like the other commie leaders of the past? That's what happened with Lenin, Stalin and the midget's daddy, Kim Il Sung.

North Korea test-fired a short-range missile off its east coast on Monday, the same day it announced the death of leader Kim Jong-Il, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said. (http://news.yahoo.com/n-korea-test-fires-short-range-missile-report-130006284.html)
coincidence? or a message to S. Korea that they aren't backing down an inch even after the death of the little troll?

Korea has been the whipping boy of southeast Asia for most of the 20th century. When the Imperial Japanese started their 'world tour' after the Russo-Japanese war, Korea was the first stop.
Strong? Not quite strong enough.

If South Korea is one of the biggest inventor countries and producers in science and technology imagine when North Korea is free.
Korean intellectuals will be dominating the entire world with new ideas.
-
the only problem with this situation is the uncertainty that this brings out. I can certainly imagine that the Hillary's boys and girls, and DoD, have come up with all sorts of angles as to who is going to replace KJI and the politics behind the changes, but until the critter actually is in place for awhile and exhibits some sort of history, it's largely unknown what the new critter is going to do.

You are a slave to political correctness. South Korea is only great because they are free. Freedom brings the best out in people.
The North Korean population are brainwashed slaves who literally worship their leader. It will take generations to break the chains of their mental slavery. Fully one third of North Koreans live in brutal concentration camps.
The best view of the difference between North and South id to look at the countries from a satellite.
Here they are at night. The south is full of light and life. The North cowers in darkness.

Well, I suppose there is always the chance he could turn out to be an improvement. I understand an uncle is actually running the show as regent, which means the new Kim is not likely to make any change felt for some time (Assuming the uncle or the Nork General Staff don't off him as an inconvenience in the meantime).
-
I hope they have a civil war.
-
I just talked to my buddy from South Korea today. He said his father (who lives in Seoul) went out and bought a bunch of toilet paper and water today. :-)
I asked my friend for his South Korean perspective on the new guy (Kim Jong-un). He said that Kim Jong-un wasn't groomed up enough to transfer a legacy over, like Kim Jong-il was, and that they didn't think he was calling the shots. I asked him what he meant.
I didn't get much time to listen, but among many things, he said that Kim-Il Sung had many projects done (sometimes overnight, so at to make the completion of the projects appear somewhat messianic) in the name of Kim Jong-il; such as covering or building a bridge, or erecting a small dam, etc., so that many North Koreans were made to believe that only Kim Jong-il could do these wonderful things, and so the transfer from Kim-Il Sung to Kim Jong-il was easier than what he thinks the current transfer will be like.
He also alluded to Kim Jong-un perhaps being half Japanese, which he says might be a problem, too.

-
Really? What about Sophie Friederike Auguste?
All I see is
She was the daughter of Victor Frederick, Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg, and Albertine of Brandenburg-Schwedt (1712–1750), and married Frederick Augustus, Prince of Anhalt-Zerbst, 22 May 1764 at Ballenstedt am Harz. Due to a conflict with Prussia, Frederick Augustus had been living in exile since 1758, and the couple settled in Basel in 1765. She was in contact with Isaak Iselin and Peter Ochs and was dedicated the book "Geschichte der Stadt und Landschaft Basel" (1786). In 1780-1791, she left apart from her spouse, who moved to Luxemburg.
In 1793, her husband died childless, and his territories were divided among his relatives. The area of Jever, which allowed for female succession, was inherited by his sister Catherine the Great. Friederike was appointed regent-governor in Jever on Catherine's behalf in April 1793. She is descrived as an active regent who introduced many reforms. She was forced to resign when Jever was taken by France under Napoleon in October 1806.
She spent her remaining life with her sister Christine at Coswig Castle.

ah ha....just looked up my trusty Webster's and By George you are correct.
I was associating Dictators with ruler's that committed atrocious crimes like mass murder.
dic·ta·tor [ dÃk tà ytÉ™r ]
powerful ruler: a leader who rules a country with absolute power, usually by force
bossy person: somebody who is regarded as behaving in an autocratic or domineering way
authority on subject: somebody whose opinions on a subject are listened to and followed by society at large
Synonyms: ruler, tyrant, despot, autocrat, authoritarian, totalitarian

I always think of Indira Gandhi during the late 70s in India.
Link (http://www.sscnet.ucla.edu/southasia/History/Independent/Indira.html)
Mrs. Gandhi's response was to declare a state of emergency, under which her political foes were imprisoned, constitutional rights abrogated, and the press placed under strict censorship. Meanwhile, the younger of her two sons, Sanjay Gandhi, started to run the country as though it were his personal fiefdom, and earned the fierce hatred of many whom his policies had victimized. He ordered the removal of slum dwellings, and in an attempt to curb India's growing population, initiated a highly resented program of forced sterilization. In early 1977, confident that she had debilitated her opposition, Mrs. Gandhi called for fresh elections, and found herself trounced by a newly formed coalition of several political parties. Her Congress party lost badly at the polls.

The son of the late North Korean leader Kim Jong II issued his first military order shortly before the despot's death, in what was seen as a display of the young heir's control over the communist state's armed forces.
Kim Jong Un ordered all military units to stop field exercises and training and return to their bases just before his father's death was announced Monday by state media, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported Wednesday.
Until now South Korean intelligence officials thought Kim Jong Un had not yet taken over full control of the armed forces, the report quoted a South Korean source as saying.

Just a little bit of bias indicated in this story, seems to me:
U.S. officials have held informal talks with the North Koreans. The talks took place in New York and concerned the subject of U.S. food aid to the impoverished country, a State Department official told The Wall Street Journal.

Maybe, just maybe, the Norks wouldn't be so f'n "impoverished" if they didn't field a million-man Army. Maybe, just maybe, the Norks wouldn't be so f'n "impoverished" and better able to feed themselves if they didn't pursue additional nuke capability.
Maybe, just maybe, our own State Department fails to understand that the Norks do not negotiate in good faith and that any effort to negotiate further with them yields results in which we (the US) look like a bunch of f'n retards.

I caught just a minute of the funeral on the TV news. I noticed that the front 3 or 4 rows of the crowd was crying, fainting, collaspsing something awful but back in the crowd were people that had a "Well, one down and a few more to go" look on their faces.

I have the feeling that if one were to drive this limo with the giant midget portrait on top down University Ave in Berkeley Commiefornia the wailing, weeping, gesticulating, convulsing and self immolation would indeed be genuine.
There would be an unwashed mass on parade with wafting pall of patchouli and pot smoke in tow like the Pied Piper everywhere it went.

I know DU raged that the nation morned over the loss of Ronald Reagan. They hated that he was beloved.
YET this is exactly the kind of state funeral Democrats would love to foist on us: compelled attendence, compelled morning, and deification of the elite. Obama is the kind of guy to put his face in a giant billboard like the one above...now I think about it, I would not need to be compelled to attend a liberal funeral like this, but I may get in trouble for the popcorn.

Obama is the kind of guy to put his face in a giant billboard like the one above...now I think about it, I would not need to be compelled to attend a liberal funeral like this, but I may get in trouble for the popcorn.
Carter looks to be next...anyone up for tailgating?
If you bring a keg, and I bring a keg, we may just have enough beer on hand to render proper respects to the ol' boy.

Carter 'pleased' with Egypt polls what an ass. He learned NOTHING from Iran.
Or Venezuela.
