I'm making denim quilts (very primitive, unlovely, but warm) and modifying clothing for easier dressing of handicapped people this winter.  Oh, and sewing positioning pads and such for folks in wheelchairs.

But I will be getting an apartment in town and plan in making a twin bed into a day bed, making curtains, and a screen to section off part of the bedroom.  Going tropical.  This apartment is going to be my (un) seaside cottage.  :)

I need to find tropical prints that don't cost a lot.  Very hard to find in the frozen north.  Ideas?

I used to crochet, years ago. Unable to do it any longer.  I has a sad.  :bawl:

What kind of things did you make?

I only learned to crochet dishcloths and only because somebody had left a bunch of cotton yarn in a cow camp and a neighbor said it was good for those.  She showed my enough to make those.  BTW, Baxter Black, the veterinarian turned comedian, learned to knit because of a book he found at a cow camp.  I know some railroaders that have picked up either while sitting trackside waiting on trains.

There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I was quite young at the time. I remember doing doilies for the most.
