So the rich got together and created a market for right wing propaganda at a time

Last edited Sat Jan 7, 2012, 08:57 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

when there wasn't huge demand for it. But they put money and wedge issues into play, and many people were convinced to vote for this GOP and its right wing views based on hate and fear of others, not on what would be best for them if their feelings had been left unmolested over the years. And the right demanded equal time for their propaganda on the news. They went nuts when a black man was elected president and became the tea party. They no longer cared what their economic self interest was and voted that way. They got what they voted for: no employment and a crashing middle class. Then the OWS (99%) came along and woke people up a little. People took pleasure in being connected with a wider group all of a sudden, to fight for against what truly is hurting them: crony capitalism and crony political economy. And they felt relief at not having to feel hate and fear all the time.

How do get this narrative out there.

I don't know. How do get this ?  :whatever:  I doubt you even wrote that post.

You need to mind your own Canadian bees wax and stick to what you know best.  Food.

2. I can't go to my local occupy group. I try and talk about occupy with others. I talk about it a lot

online. That is about it.

This we already know.  You're an obese shut in.  All you do is talk about food, what you eat, want to eat, are eating, will eat, dream of eating.  You occupy the couch all day.  Nobody cares what you think.  Can you vote here ?  Nuff said.

4. St. Catherines, Ontario? Another Cannuck? I'm from Ottawa.

Isn't this a great site the DU. I've learnt so much about politics here. And we need to keep up on what is going on in the USA because, if the neocons have their way, Canada is only about two decades behind the US. Most of the seniors I hang around with here are pretty liberal and don't want to see the right wing fantasies play out in Canada. Which is a relief. I think Occupy will reorient the left/centre around the world. We certainly need to bring our A game to politics because the right plays to keep and would have us all living like people in Pakistan live if they had their way.

The DU is for DUmbasses that are social misfits. Like you.  And stop lying.  You hang with no one.
It's only you, your liberal parents and your brother. As for Occupy, BWAHAHAHAHA, it's trending.  :lmao:  Don't hold your breath there apple butt.

And bring that A game.  Bring it !    :rotf:

6. I don't see the 99% as the descendants of Toronto or Seattle because those events involved riots

Last edited Sun Jan 8, 2012, 01:06 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

and were not geared to the multiple realities that the 99% represents. Toronto and Seattle were far to the left in their views or trade and such. The 99% doesn't pretend to take one stand of issues like world trade. It focuses more on the inputs & outcomes of politics & policy choices such as the 1% having bought and paid for government that benefits only them. That is why the 99% will make a difference in the world, because it represents as many realities as there are people, not just the platform of the far left.

She's just trying to make some inner net friends.  Occupying gets lonely between meals.

BWAHAHAHAHA !!!!!   Apple Butter.

applegrove (50,823 posts)First of all, how the H*** do get that many posts-even over a period of a few years? Dude..do you even have a job?!! is this all you do, post on DU? Geez Louise, get a girlfriend!

Then the OWS (99%) came along and woke people up a little.
Woke up WHO exactly? I work in a liberal state. The flaming libs never ONCE mentioned OWS. Blocking traffic and pooping in the streets brought awareness to what issue? Oh right, OWS never did agree on what they were protesting. A friendly liberal biased media was unable to report what the fuss was about apart from, "Capitalism Bad! Israel Bad! Fire Bad!"

--The only people woke up was the underbelly of America, the Hippies came out, but that was it. OK a few Unions swelled your ranks for ONE DAY, but they smelled your unwashed bodies and raw sewage, and never came back. Sorry. No one woke up.

People took pleasure in being connected with a wider (Don't you mean, "whiter" group? Where were the minorities?) group all of a sudden, to fight for against what truly is hurting them: crony capitalism and crony political economy.
Crony capitalism, like Obamanomics. Like Wall Street being the number one contributor to the Democtrats and Obama? thats how they got their bailout, right?

And they felt relief at not having to feel hate and fear all the time.
OWS gave them new targets to hate. Bankers, the rich and Jews. Its OK to hate them, right?

Well now, that's the crux of why everyone ignores the self-styled 99%, and why only 1% of actual people even identify themselves with that stupid catch-phrase.  None of them have any actual objective beyond their own personal agendas, which mainly involve unlimited drug access, acceptance of their pet perversions, relief from all debt, efforless accolades, and free money.

Funny thing is... I usually find the liberal boards, those oh so edumacated, smartest, and bestest folks in the world, with the most grammatical/spelling/etc errors.

At least when I write in WVianese I take pains to make sure the words are spelled correct.

Actually, you can boil it down more than that.

He did ask where cousin was educated, and when I told him, he said:  "That explains a lot."   :lmao:

Which WVianese?

We always could tell if someone was from Cabell or Kanawha, or the coalfields.

East Huntington sounded very different from West Huntington.

Completely different accents.

I guess a lot of that's been homogenized out by cable TV.

Local dialects are pretty much disappearing.

when there wasn't huge demand for it. And the right left demanded equal time total media saturation for their propaganda on the news. They went nuts gushingly numb & brainless when a [half] black man was elected president and became the tea party bigger race baiters than they already were. They no longer cared what economic self interest freedom was and voted that way. They got what they voted for: no employment and a crashing middle class. Then the OWS (9915%) came along and woke people up a little. People [with large trust funds or pampered college students whose parents were paying for their education] took pleasure in being connected with a wider group all of a sudden carefully planned by rich Dems experienced in Astroturf movements, to fight for against what truly is hurting them: crony capitalism massive government spending, socialism, entitlements that provide for all their needs to they can spend their lives bitching about what they still don't have, union rights even though they don't have jobs and don't intend to get them, and crony political economy. And they felt [no] relief at not having because they have no idea how to go through life and not  feel hate and fear all the time.

How do [we] get [people to believe] this narrative out there because we already have the propaganda media and make up polling data showing the majority of people think just like us but it's still not working.
