Hi everyone!  I'm Islandgirl, and I live on the beautiful North Carolina coast!  I'm a conservative lady, married and have always tended towards the conservative side.  I look forward to some great discussions here at the Conservative Cave!

Hmm, NC coast. Deep water access? This could turn into an advantage. :-)  Though That CrazyHorse dude lives there as well.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Thanks for such a warm welcome!

I am right near Wilmington, actually.  About a block from the beach.  It's beautiful here!

And yes, we have marvelous BBQ.  Best around.  We do look forward to some deep-sea fishing this summer.  For now, we've been fishing a little off the pier, catching mostly whiting, puffers and a skate now and then.  It's good practice, as I'm a newbie with a rod and reel.  Folks around here eat the puffers, but I don't think they are worth the effort.

Welcome Love the OBX last time there we caught a bunch of these nasty things!

"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

:cheersmate: Well you'll have CC brethren in town in a few days! Good to have you here. I just love Wilmington. NC to me is one of those just about perfect places to live weather wise--nice change up of cool and hot. And the beach goes without saying if you in the coastal area and judging by both our usernames we have a love for the coast :). NC is about as close as I can get to my homeland..Floride :-) Well when you feel a little more sanity and conservatism flowing in the force of the coast this weekend, you'll know my family has rolled into town. :cheersmate: :cheersmate:
