I've had a death in the family. I am in a little bit of a quandry.
For those of you who have been following the story of me and my MAGA dad.....

He called me last night.
A cousin died, and his memorial "service" is in two weeks (the 27th).

At the time, I agreed to go and to possibly carpool with him, his wife (also MAGA) and my brother (not MAGA).

This might sound horrible, but I just don't feel safe. I don't want to carpool. I want to drive myself, so I can get the hell out of there if I have to.

I'm not even sure I want to go at all. The guy who died was also MAGA, so I don't exactly want to celebrate his life.

I'm going to have to talk it over with my brother. He hates Trump, but he has a higher tolerance of being around MAGA folks than I do.
Things are getting scarier every day. I just don't know if I can trust my family anymore.
Not that they would stuff me in a bag and send me to El Salvador, but they could make me really miserable.
And, with the way things are going, they might "turn me into the authorities" on a later date if I don't say the right things.

I can't believe it has come to this in this country.

If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

All of the DUmmies are advising her to just not go.  Fake an illness, etc.  I'm inclined to agree with them.  Nobody wants to be around Coventina.  Who needs all that bitter miserableness on top of what may have been a tragic, untimely death?

And for those who have missed the impetus of her existential crisis with her family; her father dared to put a Trump sign in his front yard last year.  That's it.  Ever since then she has done nothing but be uncivil towards her father and the rest of her family.  And, of course, run to DU to let everyone know what a classless POS she is.

It is a sad state of human affairs when one bases one's relationships on who voted for whom. Totally disgusting in my opinion.

This is a perfectly rational response from a perfectly rational and mentally well adjusted person. I support the DUmbass in its quest to inflict as mush mental pain on the sad day as possible... just don't ask you father for rent, grocery, or gas money at the funeral.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

The Sarcasm quote all but say what needs to be said.

Whether called a funeral or a memorial service or a celebration of life the purpose is to honor the deceased, something Progbot Coventina would never do, because Bad Orange Man.

And those are its good points.

Whenever I read shit like this on DU, I imagine what's actually going on (in this case, with the family). Someone died, and that's a sad thing, and people have to come together to see them off, and ultimately they'll all feel better and enjoy the fellowship, because at the end of the day, that's what funerals or memorials are about. None of them give a dog's fart in a hurricane about who voted for whom, and I strongly suspect that if Coventina didn't show up, there would result a mixed distribution of complete indifference and relief.

Moreover, I wonder if the survivors told Coventina's dad something to the effect of: "We told you out of respect for you, but if possible, can you keep your wretched **** of a so-called daughter away from our solemn service?"

     Because that's what I'd say.

Stay away from normal people, Coventina. No one wants you around.
