who became Reagan Yuppies in the Eighties. Their new drug of choice was money. (Exhibit One: Jerry Rubin, ex-Yippie)

And they invested in the stock market, expecting a big pay-off with a retirement.

They followed the Rules. They trusted the Market. They trusted the Government (except when Dems were in charge.)

And here they are, hemorrhaging their dreams, their futures.

It's like a bad Greek tragedy.

In this Boomer's real world, Jesus is my God, not money.

In this Boomer's real world, my family was and is my priority, and money was/is our servant keeping food on our table and a roof over our head.

In this Boomer's real world, I voted FOR Reagan, 4 times (including primaries), and was happy with the results from my votes.

In this Boomer's real world, my "dreams" are not "hemorrhaging". Unlike DUmmie-grade Progs, I know that my investments are long-term, and downturns don't bother me, regardless of who the current POTUS is.

In this Boomer's real world, I also know that the stock market will soon be turning DU-grade Progs from Snoopy-dancing to denouncing the stock market as supporting Trump.

The market is still up and I'm buying more stock as soon as it looks like it's stopped dropping.  Bought several hundred shares of a stock I sold about 6 months ago and now I'm buying it back.

     Anyone who was a consistent wage earner and saver in the Reagan years who is now ruined because of the last 4 days is either a moron, a risk lover, or has had a serious life event recently, or never made enough money to save.

     DUmmies almost all fit into one of those buckets, which is why they're petrified that their SS checks won't post.

One of the things (out of many) that pisses me off about SS is that if I were to be declared disabled today (and I'm pretty sure I could qualify), I would draw almost $800 more per month right now, than I can draw if I wait until I'm 65 to take my SS.

THAT is bullshit.

Trump Issues a Tariff Pause, Smacks China Again

President Donald Trump issued a 90-day pause on tariffs for countries coming to the negotiation table with the United States Wednesday afternoon, sending the stock market soaring.

"Based on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subiects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non Monetary Tariffs, and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately," Trump posted on Truth Social.

Yeah, I was just looking at what individual stocks I have and they are way up right now.  Hopefully it just keeps climbing back to where it was.  LOL
