So, I did a ~5.4 mile out-and-back walk on the Los Gatos Creek Trail. TL;DR summary at the bottom of this post.
This trail is fairly heavily used, and the trail entry I used is popular. Street parking there is normally not great, and today was the worst I've seen on a Saturday AM, well, ever. Trail traffic at the first was normal, there were almost always 5-10 user in my front view. The segment I used passes through two small parks, the first of which has a dog park. The dog park had quite a few users, bipeds and quadrupeds. As I approached the second park I saw there was some sort of fairly large event in the park. It was a cancer survivor 5K, and I just learned from the timer's website that there were 418 finishers (and there would have been additional family and friend supporters using the park, of course). Due to my and the event's timing, I met a stream of several hundred people heading for the finish of their 5K. When I went through the first park on my return leg, the dog park had even more users, and I saw a group setting up some sort of get-together in the picnic pavilion. Judging by the lack of Hate-Trump decorations and number of undamaged Teslas in the parking lot, I think it was some sort of normal family gathering/party.
While heavy participation in the Progs' protest-tantrum would have significantly diminished usage of this trail and the two parks I passed through, usage was normal, except for the stretch where the charity 5K significantly increased the usage.
Looking at GoogMaps traffic, traffic on Bay Area freeways and the 8 bridges is normal or lighter than normal. There isn't a flood of protestors increasing traffic volume, nor are there protestors using their beloved tactic of blocking/impeding traffic. I won't go out on a limb and say the 4/5 protest was a total zero, but even in the SF Bay Area I not seeing signs of something out of the ordinary.
