The Boston medical student who preyed on Craigslist escorts and murdered a Manhattan model last year killed himself in prison Sunday - the day after what would have been his first wedding anniversary.

Cavegirl I question how he went about this interesting suicide.

I hope they will publish the autopsy report on what the cause of death was.

Lets see, he either died from hanging himself, cutting his arteries or suffercation from the plastic bag.

Why go to all that trouble when just cutting the major artery in his leg of in his neck would have done the job.


Curiouser and strange.  What came first, the cutting of his body then the plastic bag then the hanging.?

"Craigslist Killer" Left Eerie Message In Blood

(WBZ-TV)   Two words scrawled in his own blood. That was the final message left by Philip Markoff, the accused "Craigslist Killer," when he apparently took his own life last weekend.

The Boston Globe reports that the words "Megan" and "pocket" were written in blood on the wall of Markoff's cell at the Nashua Street Jail. That's where he was awaiting his March 2011 trial for allegedly killing a woman inside the Copley Marriott last April.

BOSTON –  A former medical student awaiting trial in the shooting death of a masseuse he met through Craigslist killed himself in an apparent suicide reportedly by cutting his wrists and suffocating himself.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, but the Boston Herald, quoting anonymous sources, said the 24-year-old used a pen to cut arteries and covered his head with a plastic bag. The newspaper also reported that he had not been checked all night.

Markoff was discovered dead, alone in his cell, on Sunday morning.

Boston City Councilor Stephen Murphy called Monday for an independent investigation of jailhouse procedures.
