Title: Painting.
Post by: dutch508 on June 30, 2011, 09:32:25 AM
I recently started up again after twenty years.

The three paintings will be one set of summer, fall, and winter.

The next two are portraits, of a sort.

A bit different take. I do like it though.

Dawn in Iraq. The one I am currently working on.

Is it difficult to wash the paint off your fingers before posting here? :-)

I did some years ago when Bob Ross was still around .. Never could get the pine tree technique though.   It is a great way to pass the time too..

I don't know enough about art to tell the difference between Picasso's masterpieces and Patrick's finger paints. Hell, the main thing is to keep doin' what makes you tick.

Like motorcycling, for instance.  ;)

I like them and am envious of your talent.  Your technique and composition is a lot like that of my son's.

Nothing wrong with creating things to keep your mind occupied but much like my rodmaking. Yeah don't quit your day job.

LOL, it's nice but like I'm not into poetry I'm also not into painting, though I find the dogs playing poker and drinking and smoking amusing.

I used to, but the damn dogs kept pissing on the carpet when they got drunk and left cigarette burns on the table.  :-)

I really do like that winter one, most of all, but that is probably because I like storms.   If you painted a good storm, my favorites are hurricanes, I would buy one, and no, I am not blowing smoke up your ass.

Serious.

BS for being sensitive about your art. Next you're going to be complaining that the coffee in the DFAC isn't "Fair Trade".

If it weren't for paint by numbers I'd have no art in my house.   :rotf:

I like what you do.  It makes me want to create something myself.  I really like the bold portrait.

It's alive with color.

I used to do some, I was a lot more into drawing, though.  These days I mostly do art metal, mainly lost-wax casting of my own designs.

I lke the farm and the mountains. I think it takes talent and a good eye to paint. Do you use oils or acrlic paints?

I love Bob Ross and his happy little clouds. He was a wonderful man and his son is carrying on his love of painting. Had the chance to have him critic some of my paintings and even when honestly harsh he was wonderful, happy and positive.

Maybe his day job is also an art, and he's just letting his creativity find another outlet.
