I agree with your post. If I was conspiracy-minded, I'd think that the dumbing-down of America and all the ways it's been implemented (lower academic standards, "self-esteem" over achievement, "entitlement" programs,affirmative action, etc) was planned to make an easily-led government-dependent population of sheep who will eventually be so helpless and reliant on the state that they can be easily controlled. Their test cases, the DUmmies, have already shown that it can be done. That's one reason I thank God that there are still people like Sarah Palin, who prove that there are still Americans who believe in the virtue of self-reliance.
