Assange warns that any government that tries to curtail his activities risks triggering a new deluge of state and commercial secrets.

One of the key files available for download — named insurance.aes256 — appears to be encrypted with a 256-digit key. Experts said last week it was virtually unbreakable.

Let's see?! The gubberment can shut down a website selling fake Rolex watches and blogspots and stuff like that, but they can't stop a website like this from sending out more garbage?!

I guess DingleBarry won't go after this jagoff until he threatens to publish The One's college transcripts, which until now he has refused to release. Probably because he was a mediocre student at best and a product of affirmative action.

Very little is impossible - especially when one has access to a computing resource like what resides in a particular Maryland basement.

Probably get in trouble here, but I'm fine with Wikileaks.

The first amendment is sacred. 

The government's data security information on classified documents and access is obviously severely retarded.

I still want to know, why a PFC had the ability to DL those cables without having a visit by someone.

I was an auditor for 7 years.  Product information appears to be more secure than national security matters.

Frankly, he isn't a US Citizen.  Getting angry because you are too dumb to segregate the access to your data and than charging a guy with having sex without a condom in response because you ****ed up.

Sorry, the US government is in the giant ****ing stupid column here.  The guy went to them for redactions prior to the last release.

Trusted links ?  Failure to compartmentalize?  Then too, sometimes they make the system so complicated users develop work arounds and cheat sheets to get things done.  

I had a midwest college using biometrics and thumb drive encryption devices on a frigin laptop at a diversity seminar but have seen passwords taped to terminals in a government office.

If you are good with wiki leaks stuff how about send me your social and mother's maiden name? :naughty:

Last I checked, I'm not in much of a position of authority.  Journalist are meant to report on authority, not protect it.

I'm still scratching my head on how they had this breakdown in security.
