Well I was too lazy to try that, so I'm going the lazy route and making 4 bean soup with a microwave. (89 cent package at HyVee. if I can make this taste good, I'm set for life)
Its Saturday night. I just emptied a pack of 4 Bean soup in a container of water and placed it in the fridge. I left out the powdered flavor pack.
I previously discovered beans will get soft and edible when left overnight in a container like above. Great, that part is done. All I have to do is drain, add the proper amount of water/soup mix and heat.
Wala, I have soup.
The directions say to boil the beans in 7 cups of water. But it makes 5 6oz servings. Thats only 3.75 cups of water left. Hence that is all the water I will add to the microwave container before heating.
--I am pondering about adding a pound of hamburger to the mix.
A little math is all it takes to avoid cleaning a few pots.
