Personally, I don't see how she survives this. She'll be on the next train to Siberia for sure.

My SIL stays with me several days a week. Today she complained of pain in her chest and swelling on one side. I had my suspicions but we went to see her pediatrician just for peace of mind. Sure enough, she is entering puberty.

Lover Boy says I have to give her "the Talk." Sure. Okay.

I knelt before her and said, "Repeat after me: Boys are dumb."

I think she'll be just fine.

Seriously?

We want her to see the world as a giant place adventure and knowledge. We want her to learn Wisdom and Love in all of their myriad forms. We also want her to learn not to take life too seriously.

The anecdote so many are having such difficulty with elicited a chuckle out of my SIL and a kiss on the forehead from my husband. I'm not looking for the rest of y'all to give me a kiss on the forehead but why is it so hard for this place to share a chuckle?
