The DUmpster / Re: Time Mattered

This case was the 'big one'.

Not the 'charge', but the ruling that has me reaching for my bottle of Absolut vodka for a celebratory shot of FYDU, which I'd promised myself I would do when Smith was exposed as a flop.  'Postponed indefinitely' means postponed...  And very little else.

Wind turbines kill ptarmigans.  :argh: Proof bunnies are behind the push for green power to doom ptarmigans and humans.

Yes, Aratina Solar Project Will Down Iconic Joshua Trees in Southern California

There are a lot of essential lessons real environmentalists can learn from this post.

I have offered post after post proving that the Earth’s climate has continually changed. Any temperature rise observed from reliable temperature stations is likely cyclic and part of the world’s warming after an intense period of glaciation. I have noted repeatedly that carbon dioxide is a life-essential gas in trace amounts, and data shows it has no significant role in global warming.

I have highlighted that fossil fuels and nuclear energy are the only two current energy sources that support civilization. The rest of the sources are substantially less efficient and/or limited to specific regions.

Finally, between a wind project on the Osage reservation and geoengineering experiments in San Francisco Bay, I have shown how politically connected power companies and climate crisis promoters ignore the concerns of locals to move forward with their projects.

Therefore, I was slightly amused when environmental activists began warning that the iconic Joshua Trees around Boron, California, would be downed to make room for a solar farm.

How is cutting down trees environmental??????????????????  :mental: :mental:

Pro-Hamas Mob Occupies Rhode Island School of Design Building

Probably the first of many college posts today.

The Rhode Island School of Design (RSID) Students for Justice in Palestine captured the school’s Providence Washington Hall and renamed it Fathi Ghaben Place.

Artist Fathi Ghaben died in February. He painted a mural of PLO founder Yasser Arafat surrounded by children.

Masked activists hide behind a glass door as they speak to a crowd at Rhode Island School of Design.

Students have occupied Providence Washington Hall at Rhode Island School of Design. Trying to be like what happened at Columbia University with Hamilton Hall.  :mental:  :loser:

‘Only One Solution, Intifada Revolution’: Boston High School Students Join MIT Anti-Israel Encampment

An anti-Israel encampment swarmed MIT before police came in to break it up. Officials cleared it out, but a few people remained after the 2:30 PM ET deadline given by the university. Those people will be suspended.

They returned, too.

During the afternoon, people chanted, “We are the Intifada,” a day after people literally called for ethnic cleansing.

This is after video came out yesterday of MIT protestors explicitly calling for ethnic cleansing.

MIT finally decided to set a serious deadline. Of course since most media didn’t cover the chants or videos, they are missing this context. https://t.co/sGjTW6bQ80 https://t.co/ffClloGofl

Israel to Push On With Rafah Operation While Continuing Hostage Talks
https://www.newsmax.com/world/globaltalk/hamas-terrorists-israel/2024/05/06/id/1163647/

After Hamas on Monday announced its acceptance of an Egyptian-Qatari cease-fire proposal, Israel said its leaders approved a military operation in the southern Gaza town of Rafah and began striking targets in the area. Still, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would send negotiators to continue talks on the deal.

The high-stakes diplomatic moves and military brinkmanship left a glimmer of hope alive — but only barely — for an accord that could bring at least a pause in the 7-month-old war that has devastated the Gaza Strip. Hanging over the wrangling was the threat of an all-out Israeli assault on Rafah, a move that the United States strongly opposes and that aid groups warn will be disastrous for some 1.4 million Palestinians taking refuge there.

Hamas's abrupt acceptance of the cease-fire deal came hours after Israel ordered an evacuation of Palestinians from eastern neighborhoods of Rafah, signaling an invasion was imminent.

Netanyahu’s office said that the proposal Hamas accepted was “far from Israel’s essential demands,” but that it would nonetheless send negotiators to continue talks on a deal.

Israel has moved into Rafah fighting Hamas.

41% Of Americans Think Civil War Likely By 2029, Some Say Sooner Amid Chaos

Americans have been stunned by the Democratic megadonors funneling money into Marxist groups, sparking mass chaos across colleges and universities nationwide as risks are mounting that 'BLM-style' riots could spill over into city streets this summer.

Law-abiding Americans have taken notice of radical left-wing policies pushing this nation further into chaos, from failed progressive cities ignoring law and order to open borders igniting the greatest illegal alien invasion this nation has ever seen. There is a growing sense among the population that possibly a controlled demolition of the country is underway by the radical left.

The spark that could ignite the next round of social unrest is possibly Marxist 'useful idiots' (some of which are professional and paid protesters) on school campuses who quite literally have said they want a revolution to usher in a "socialist reconstruction of America."

An extremist on the mic says: "There’s only one solution, intifada revolution. We must have a revolution so we can have a socialist reconstruction of the USA."

This isn’t just about Israel/Palestine. It's an attempt of the Marxist takeover of America. Our colleges have become… pic.twitter.com/2IEqRyuorB

Big brands feeling the pinch as inflated costs drive consumers away
https://www.foxbusiness.com/media/big-brands-feeling-pinch-inflated-costs-drive-consumers

Quote
Consumers are under a considerable amount of pressure thanks to years of price increases, and it's putting some of America's popular brands and chains in a tough spot.

A Wall Street Journal report published Sunday said chains like Starbucks, Wendy's and McDonald's are feeling the pinch as consumers drift away from their products as costs remain elevated.

Items that sit on store shelves are also reportedly hanging around a bit longer than they might have before the COVID-19 pandemic, as some of their loyal buyers have reached their breaking point and refuse to dish out any more of their paycheck toward yet another cumbersome grocery bill.

David Tawil, president of Prochain Capital, echoed the bad news Monday on FOX Business.

"We're seeing the consumer under a considerable amount of pressure. Credit card delinquencies are considerably higher," he told "Mornings with Maria" guest host Cheryl Casone.

People are turned off from big brands. Wokeness is also a factor.
