primitive wants to know how to wash a car

Oh my.

The Kali primitive, who lives in southernmost Texas, not to be confused with the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive.  The Kali primitive holds the ashes of a late primitive (the annoying middle-fingered one), I guess in an old salt-and-pepper shaker, not having yet decided what to do with them.

best methods/products for washing a car?

OK this is kind of silly, but I haven't done anything other than run a cold water hose to rinse off dust in more than 30 years. dry climate, dirt roads and beaters aren't real conducive to exterior maintanence. but I have a newish vehicle now and I think I might want to at least TRY for a year or so to take care of it.

when I was a kid, I got paid a dollar to wash the family truckster (64 ford station wagon), I think I used a bucket of warm water with some liquid dish detergent and an old t-shirt rag, then used the hose to rinse. air dried I am sure.

so, what do you all recommend for the new century?

1. Costco or other commercial carwash that recycles/reuses grey water.

They have recovery systems that help to keep most of the really bad stuff from going down the drain, and they can wash a car with a LOT less water and energy than you can probably manage at home. They typically also use mostly environmentally-friendly washing compounds.

2. hmmm

I didn't even think of a car wash place...I guess I could do that.

I am 20 miles from town and 60 from a real city so I was assuming it was do-it-myself (like most everything around here LOL)

I can hardly wait till the primitive discovers the cost of the wash.  :lmao:

The car wash would be a good place to dump those ashes.

To a prog, even car washing has to be progressive.
It would be a travesty to wash a car today like you did when you were a kid.

An automatic car wash is a great way to embed dirt in your paint.

Mix a bucket of bleach and ammonia for those tough stains.

Dish soap is the best thing for removing any wax that the previous owner might have put on the car.  Car wax is so bourgeois don't you know.

I agree. After that, turn off the shower, get dressed, and go outside and wash your car.

I agree with the DUmmie about using environmentally-friendly washing compounds. That’s why I only use BabySeal 2020. It is made with ground up baby seals that have been clubbed by hand. The ground up baby seal parts provide the grit to cut the grime on the vehicle without scratching the vehicle’s finish. This new formula also includes just enough whale blubber to give the car a shine without polishing.

BabySeal 2020 is available at most BFEE dealers.

I am not a paid spokesperson for BabySeal 2020.

Reference the bolded . . . Would that be right-handed clubbers, or left-handed clubbers?  Does it make a difference--as in, would a right-handed clubbed baby seal be a general buffer, and a left-handed clubbed baby seal be a finishing  wax? :fuelfire:

That was worth a good laugh. But a baby seal club with no spike is totally environmentally insensitive.

It's this or nothing...

That's the beauty of BabySeal 2020. The baby seals are only clubbed by ambidextrous natives so every container of BabySeal 2020 is dual purpose.

And obumazombie, those particular clubs are only used for BabySeal 2020 Industrial Strength.

I was thinking of the previous version--BabySeal 2018.
