Our Sixty Year War on Poverty
« on: February 20, 2015, 03:17:46 PM »

Lots of graphics but the bottom line seems to be to be that we've wasted trillions of dollars in an effort to socialize America. And the results don't seem to be all that great.

Also noticed - 1950 to 2010 = FIFTY years?

I read most of that link and I got a couple of things from it. It cost more to live in blue states due to the social programs therefore causing more poverty. Blacks migrated north out of the south taking poverty with them therefore it's us racist southerners fault.

 ....and then there was this.

2010 saw a rather general resurgence of poverty – related certainly to globalization and industrial off shoring, deindustrialization in the old northeastern core, and greater poverty across the southern tier from CA to FL, in part related to heavy immigration from Latin America.  Some of this shift could, in my opinion, be pegged as well to the shift to more conservative Republican Party rule.

Yep, if it ain't Bushes fault then it's republicans fault that illegal aliens are here and in poverty.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
