Note that these are all "running" charts, they are updated every time Margaret runs (once a day).

Two things, BC . . .

1)  What happened to spike the GLBT forum a day ago?

2)  Is there any way to get an "average" index, with the average being based on the amounts of traffic in the various forums, and their contribution to the total?

1) The "spike" in the fag forum is three points in to the left.  They got worse the next day, then cooled off a bit yesterday.

2) I'm not sure I understand this one.  These are the "day by day" LIWC scores for each forum.  The fags are a very small group of posters, sometimes this index is calculated on only about 19 posts, hence its erratic behavior.  The larger forums smooth out a bit, as you can see.

On the plus side, Margaret will soon have the ability to do this analysis on INDIVIDUAL DUMMIES.

I figured that, after I posted, that I'd have to explain myself.  You've got an aggregate number of posters in the four forums.  But, not every forum has the same number of posters--some stay out of the GLBT and just stay in GD-P, to throw out two forums.  I would expect that there would be more posters in GD-P.  So, the LIWC score for that fourm would weigh heavier than GD-P, would it not?

Am I making any sense here, or do I have to rethink this? ::)

GD is the "grand daddy" of their forums, accounting for about 70% of all posts at the DUmp.
The numbers, as presented, are only representative of a forum, the DUmmy crossover into other scanned forums is unavoidable.

The LIWC score is calculated on a per forum per date basis.  The analysis is unbiased as to the number of posters, but, as I said, a low number of posters, such as in the fag forum, can show "wilder" swings based on the posts of a couple of DUmmies.

In a forum the size of GD, GDP or the lounge, those "swings" are smoothed out by the number of posters.

Those are the abbreviations for the different forums at the DUmp that Violator and Margaret scan.

GD = General Discussion
GDP = General Discussion - The Presidency
LNG = Lounge
EDT = Editorials
LBN = Latest Breaking News
GBLT = Gay Bacon Lettuce Tomato
