Oh my.

Who would have thought?

The Vermontese cali primitive, a chef?

I love cooking for our customers with produce from our garden

Today's specials:

Soup, savoury tart and salad
Chilled curried zucchini soup, savoury tart of caramelized onions,
roasted cherry tomatoes and comte cheese, salad of garden greens with
dijon vinaigrette or lemon dill dressing.

Wrap of herbed goat cheese spread, roasted bell pepper, basil and garden
greens served with a bulgur salad with dried cranberries and toasted walnuts or lentil salad vinaigrette.

Vegetarian Chef's Salad
Garden greens, hard boiled eggs (from our Cochins), tomatoes, peppers,
cucumbers, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, croutons, bayley-hazen
blue cheese

Raspberry tart

And of course, our regular menu of full cream teas, cakes, tarts and lavender shortbread.

No wonder we served over 400 people this week- even though we're located in the middle of nowhere in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom.

One wonders if Pedro Picasso's been there to sample his fellow primitive's culinary delights, as Pedro Picasso likes to go skiing up there, thumbing his nose at his fellow primitives who can't afford two houses.

I wouldn't know which to pick! I'd have to take a couple of friends and pass around plates.

Where are you serving this?

And at the end, Grandma waves at franksolich.

6. What a fabulous business you run, and in my most favorite state.

My daughter attending grad school in Vermont (Burlington) and I visited her several times and fell in love with Vermont. Oh . . . if only I could think of a way to move there.

Your tea garden cafe is exquisite - a wonderful enterprise.

I wish you success and if ever I am honored to travel your way, I will certainly visit.

There are only about ten places in the entire Northeast Kingdom that would have a menu like that. If I gave a rat's ass, it would take me about an hour to figure out where she worked. But I'd rather spend the hour picking my nose.

By the way, if one drives through the Northeast Kingdom, one notices two things: Most every yard in the countryside has a pond visible from the road; and every pond has a little black Sambo statue holding a fishing pole placed at the water's edge. I've never seen that anywhere else in North America.

Well now, I made one of my rare exceptions, examining a primitive off of Skins's island--being a decent and civilized person, I generally don't intrude on what a primitive's doing off of Skins's island--and went to the link provided by the Vermontese cali primitive.

It looks pretty ritzy, and is pricey.

And so now I'm left wondering.  Why is a primitive working somewhere that caters to the affluent, rather than to the hoi polloi?  Like there's something special about rich people, and nothing special about people of ordinary or lesser means?

The primitives need to take lessons from the late Dorothy Day or the late Robert Drinan, S.J., on how to show one's sincere commitment to the poor by actually living and working among the poor and sharing in their deprivations and sufferings; otherwise, the primitives' political ideology is fake, and they have no concern at all for those whom they allege to care about.

Did you know that Burlington, VT is the incest capital of the U.S.?  Just thought I'd share.

Her chilled curried zuchinni soup sounds absolutely disgusting.  Pricey or not.

Is it just me?  Reading a moonbat vegetarian menu makes me feel hungry, but only because of the perceived lack of protein it suggests.  It makes me crave a cheeseburger.  And not one with arugula and Roquefort.

Yeah. As if more than 20% of that came from "your garden".

I'll start off with things in the curry flavor like cardamon , cumin , turmeric and coriander and we can go from there.

Worst hotel I ever stayed in in my life was in Burlington Vermont.....and I was alone....no family members molested while I was there.

Her menu left me craving some blackeyed peas, cornbread, green inions, fresh sliced tomatoes, stewed potatoes, fried pork chops and a tall glass of ice tea brewed from spring water. I guess if you've never worked a day in your life you can live on that crap she's serving.

OK, I went and visited the Perennial Pleasures.  Utter snobbery.  This won't do for a minion for the party of the people.  All those DUmmies flat broke and blaming their problems on profitable people and businesses.  Not to worry, though, DUmmies.  Cali says in her brochure:

The "cream tea" is ten bucks.

I have friends in Burlington, and have stayed there for several days. It used to be mainly a farming community, and is indeed still surrounded by farms - but town center is a whole other story...

Its a college town, on par with Cambridge. The residents come in two flavors.

Wealthy Snobs.
College Liberals.

..and they are all convinced of their superior standing in the world.

This little overdone shop is typical of what one finds in Cambridge Annex North Burlington.

The last time I was in the Mother Country for tea, it was baked beans, toast, and eggs.

Where's the beef? That is the most gawd awful menu I've ever seen. Except for the hard boiled eggs, you could eat til your stomach ruptured and still be hungry.

And I'm sure the artsy craftsy snots love the spelling of "savoury".

So did I. Utter snobbery is right. It reminds me of my brothers widow's "Aunt Nancy" which they pronounce aunt as "awnt" not "ant" which I know is a regional thing but sounds snobby none the less. She would totally fit that pretentious place.

She gave a link to their website. There is no way their 'tea room' makes much money, thats why its a plant nursery!

The Tea Garden Café is open summer afternoons from Memorial Day to Labor Day, from 11:30 to 4:00, every day but Monday. Sounds like a real barn burner of a business don't it?

And they make it very very difficult to get reservations.  There's a whole paragraph on rules and regs surrounding the reservation process.  God forbid they put themselves out for the customer a little bit.

The only reason Id seek reservations is to see a primitive in their native habitat. I'd make sure to have a nice dinner somewhere else before attending.

First of all, chef? Whats it take to "cook" that crap, steam? Chef, indeed!

Second, I wonder how'd she feel if I brought my Taco Bell half pound beef burritos along while I drank her tea? lol!
