This is a decadent and heavenly chocolate cake. Be sure to grease your pans well. I use nonstick pans and grease them pretty good, this is a thick batter.
Grand Fudge Cake
2 cups flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salf
1 cup butter, softened
1-3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
1-1/3 cup milk
Preheat oven to 350. Grease & flour 2 9-inch round pans.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda & salt.
Cream butter & sugar.
Add vanilla & eggs, one at a time, beat well between additions.
Alternate adding flour mix & milk, ending with flour.
Mix until smooth.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
I do a double of this frosting, cause I tend to slather it on pretty thick on my cakes.
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
6 tablespoons butter, softened
2-2/3 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Beat butter until light & fluffy.
Mix sugar and cocoa together in a bowl.
Blend sugar mix and milk into butter.
Beat until smooth.
Add vanilla.

I just had an extremely decadent chocolate cake for my birthday(enough chocolate to last me awhile), but I might have to try that recipe sometime. :)

I will have to try this one of these weekends...sounds great.

That looks tasty.

Just be sure to really grease the pan well. I use non-stick pans and heavily grease them. Otherwise it's so thick I end up breaking one of the layers in half. I almost always end up making two cakes. :)

my daughter made this a while back...was delicious! But we made it with no frosting, and in a bundt pan (our rounds pans went MIA in the move), and it was so rich. Can't imagine how it would be with frosting!

This sounds delicious! I'm taking a cake decorating class and I have to bring in another cake this week. I think, it might be this one. Last week was yellow cake with white buttercream icing.

Finally -- something that doesn't need Lime Jello!
But I gained 3 pounds just reading the ingredient list...

Happy Belated Birthday! No Lime Jello with that ? :-)
