They should be.  This country lurched to the Left in the last election.  It's going waaaaay Right soon . . . and they are scared shitless.

You know, when Klintoon was first elected, I remember Rush Limbaugh making the comment that "this election was nothing but a belch." It turned out he was wrong and the Dogpatch Kid went on to win re-election and enjoy fairly good approval ratings for most of his tenure.

This time though, I think the "belch" is going to be just that. Obama was gassed up by an adoring media and burped in through the relentless pounding of George Bush by the Left Wing Noise Machine for eight years. A lot of good conservatives were pissed off and disillusioned and just stayed home. This time it's different. People are aware now of the danger the Democrat Party presents. The sleazy Dems are going to be sent packing in November and in another two years Obama is out. His only claim to fame will be in the sheer number of people he duped four years earlier.

I only hope the Republicans have drawn a lesson from this also and get back to the small government philosophy their constituents have. Otherwise, third parties are going to be all the rage by the end of this decade.

Assuming we take back over Congress two years is an eternity in politics,just look back over the last two.

Relentless media bashing (bet they find homeless people again) on how cruel and heartless we are will take a toll and unless a real solid candidate is put up O will not be in bad reelection condition.

I tend to agree with you, dandi, because Clinton showed that he was a master politician.  The only thing that Obama has shown to be a master of is ideology.  A master politician can't be a master ideologue, and vice versa.

Hi all, I was away from a computer for the weekend, so I'm just catching up.  How on earth can anyone wade through the massive swampland of comments at the DUmp over this very successful event.  And why do they need 25,000 different threads just to display their exploding heads?  If they were smart about it, they'd just say "meh" and talk about something else.

I had not seen the highlights of the event, as I was camping all weekend, but now I'm caught up.  All I saw were peaceful, decent and civilized people gathered together for an honorable cause.  The very idea that the DUmmies would go into vicious fits of rage over a crowd of obviously very nice people is so alien to me.  What possible problem could they have with any of this?  I guess it's because the behavior of this crowd could appeal to a broad voting cross-section of the population.  They are despicable.
