my God...read the number one post. What the hell has happened to this forum?

Cynicism. Disloyalty. Judgementalism. Naivete.

He's doing the absolute best job he can navigating through the bullshit. Trying to dig us out of the unholy mess we were left with.

Thoughtful, measured pragmatism - dealing with the way things really are - instead of the rose-colored glasses picture of what we thought things would be like when he got elected.

I can not think of a single, solitary person who could be doing better in today's environment. Read "Game Change" and think about what we could have ended up with.

It's a big campfire, so only the highlights:

35. This is the BEST the Democrats could do!

What a pathetic statement.

In 2008, The American People gave the Democratic Party:
*The White House
*A BIG Majority in The House
*A filibuster-proof majority In The Senate
*And MOST Importantly, A HUGE MANDATE for "CHANGE"....

WE did OUR job!

And THIS is the BEST Obama & The "Centrist/Moserate" Democrats could do?

That is a Mortal Indictment of either corruption, or incompetence.

If THIS is "The BEST they could do:, its because THIS is the BEST they wanted to do.

No more pathetic excuses.

The Republicans NEVER had a 60 vote majority.

The Republicans NEVER had the majorities in The House.

The Republicans NEVER had this MANDATE for "CHANGE".

Joe Lieberman is NOT Superman.

Obama could have crushed Lieberman anytime he wanted to...Chicago Style.

What a World Class SHAME.

and What a WASTE of a once in a generation opportunity.

2. What's happened? We have no leadership.

We grow tired of defending weakness. He's don't the best job?

I don't buy it. Pragmatism? Try Capitulation. We had 60 ****ing seats. Leadership was lacking and the political capital is gone. The Dems and Obama ****ed up.

7. We never had 60 seats. You're either ignorant or deliberately lying.

Lieberman defeated the Democratic candidate in the general election. He's an Independent, not a Democrat. He caucuses with the Dems, but he often votes with the Rethugs.

9. Oh, 59. Whatever. Weak ass Dems.

With a 59 seat majority, couldn't get it done.

13. As you know, they couldn't get past a filibuster without 60 votes.

The filibuster is part of the Senate rules, which can't be changed midterm.

And the Senate Parliamentarian ruled that reconciliation could not be used to pass the regulating part of the HCR bill, only the parts that relate to the budget.

But weak-minded people keep blaming the Democrats.

21. Boogey boogey filibuster. It terrifies me in the night.

Sorry. I don't fall for that excuse anymore. Repukes didn't need 60. I have yet to see Reid roll in the cots for a filibuster.

Blow that smoke up someone else's ass.

It is weakness of Democratic leadership. Regardless, all that matters ultimately, is results. If the Dems produces results they will be supported. If the can't, they will lose support. The rest is background noise. They can get it done or they can't.

25. Here's the thing - the repukes never filibustered..........

The repukes only threatened to filibuster and the Dems always folded.

16. It's ok.

You're are talking to those who don't really give a ****.

They have nothing to lose, as they lives are nothing but a deep dark tunnel of cynicism. These kind of folks have always been here, simply that before, we couldn't tell. Now we can.

Don't let it bother you, cause that's exactly what they want; misery looooves company!

Come visit us at the BOG sometimes!

Where Democratic folks are readying to fight for victory in 2010.....cause we are interested in the future for our children, and not invested in the payback just to be able to say "told you so".

In case anyone didn't know, the B0G is a new forum on Skins's island, the "Barack 0bama Group."  It's where all the 0bamaites congregate to pay homage to il Duce Bo.

The GOP brought real questions and concerns about the bill and the Democrats brought sad stories and called their own bill a prop.

Epic FAIL Obama.

So under Bush, you were "nothing but a deep dark tunnel of cynicism," but now with Dear Leader in office you're gumdrops and sunshine.  Let me ask you froggy kitty, do you have any earthly idea how mentally deranged that makes you sound?

That thread is very miserable.  One person said they can't bear to listen to his speeches anymore.  I know exactly how he feels.

I've never ventured into the BOG.  Is it as nauseating as I imagine?

No primitives are allowed in unless there's a noticable and distinct smelling brown color to at least their nose.

Ok.  I am going to say it out loud so even the Little Goons can be set free:

Obamo cannot now or ever be "all that he can be" because - believe it or not - the man is not legitimate.  He's not an American.  It's THE ISSUE THAT CANNOT BE, but oh, IT BE.

Oboma has to watch his step.  If he pisses off or on the wrong people, well, it's all over RIGHT NOW for him and the democrats.

All anyone that matters has to say is, "Yeah, where is that birth certificate and why is it that Oboma is the only American who doesn't need one to participate in America?", then it's over.

President Kenyon Omabo knows this.  The democrats know this.  It is self-induced blackmail on all their parts.

The cloudy stench of surreal phoniness hangs over this administration like a Texas hailstorm about to happen.  Nothing is going to get any better until this clown-in-chief is just a bad memory.  I think we will all be in a much different place (politically speaking) by this time next year.

Look for the sun to break through the clouds.

You can not dig out of a hole by digging deeper. That means you can not rein in the deficit by spending more money, but that seems to be the DimRats solution.

I never have understood that kind of logic! However, it is what is being taught in the schrools now.

Next Year: Economic collapse

Unless the DC bureaucrats get their heads out their asses, it's headed our way like a freight train doing 60! Hopefully, if we can stave off the "Bummer" until the November elections, we might do something to slow it down. Then in 2012 wrest this lunacy from this idjit and try and repair it.

Glad I live where, if I have to, I can support me and mine off the land. Hunting and butchering skills, to say nothing of animal husbandry are going to come in real handy in the near future!

ETA: ( what will really be advantageous is, 6 out of 10 in this part of the country have those skills and, we're armed to the teeth! I certainly wouldn't want to live in some Blue State city! They'll start eatin' their own! )

I don't think we can head it off. Next years budget writing will be too late I think. I also doubt they will slash spending, taxes and regulations enough to have any effect.

I don't think they will have a choice! Unless they start confiscating the wealth, they won't be able to effect change any other way. If they try that, I fear the people will rise against them!
