I like that ALCS matchup. Put me down for $20.
Again, we got rid of the AL West chump-champs in how many games was it again Sparky?
We not only waived it, we shoved it up their arses. :-)
Christ, ya'll are reminding me of Yankees already. That was yesterday. What have you done today?

Sabathia shelled.
Texiera with an 0 fer.
Middle relief looked bad.
Hank won't be pleased.
I'll enjoy this while I can.
Booed all afternoon by the Baltimore crowd after spurning a local contract offer to sign with New York, Mark Teixeira had his biggest chance in the eighth inning with two men on. But Jim Johnson got the slugger to bounce into an inning-ending fielder's choice, finishing Teixeira's day at 0-for-4.
Joe Girardi: I can't understand it, they did so well in Spring Training........
:lmao:
Leigh Teixeira's husband is a post-season a-fraud. Delicious.
What's the deal with his wife? Is she the new Anna Benson?
He said he let his wife decide which team he was going to go to -- totally made it sound like she wears the pants in the family, and it was completely out of his hands. Dirt Dogs crucified him when it happened and continue to call him Leigh's husband to this day.
The fans are going to be SOOOO brutal to him when he comes to Fenway. I know the O's fans gave it to him good, but it will pale in comparison.
The O's thought they had a shot at 'em. He's from Annapolis.

Joba bashes NYC in DUI video
He had the right to remain silent, and should have used it. Yankees righthander Joba Chamberlain instead ripped New Yorkers as rude and city drivers as cutthroat after his drunken-driving arrest - before taking a boozy shot at pinstriped icon Yogi Berra. "No bull----, he might not be as tall as the front of your car," Chamberlain told the Nebraska state trooper who found an open bottle of Crown Royal sitting inside the hurler's BMW. Chamberlain's cracks were captured in an arrest video uncovered by thesmokinggun.com. It showed the 23-year-old going through a variety of sobriety tests and chatting amiably with Trooper Michael Grummert. "The biggest thing that I've noticed driving here and there is if you let somebody in, they open the window and say 'thank you,' " Chamberlain said about getting behind the wheel in Nebraska. "In New York, they might hit you. Yeah, it's a joke." The video caught Chamberlain after he was pulled over last Oct. 18 for doing 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Chamberlain was heading home from a local strip club when stopped.

Is it too early to panic? Sure. However, it's not too soon to gaze at a 3-for-19 (.158) team batting average with runners in scoring position. Or the fact that Sabathia and Wang have hurled a combined eight awful innings in which they have given up 17 hits, 13 runs walked eight and are searching for their first strikeout.
What, you don't want to hear how bad Lester sucks? How come? Take heart--at least he won't be pitching against the Angels this weekend.
5 runs in 5 innings? Eyewwwwww.

At least he isn't like Chien-Ming Wang--17 runs in the past 2.1 IP . . .
When any team rings up 14 earned runs in one inning against your team, there's problems.
The O's are going to have slow pitch softball scores all year.
Texas hung 19 on 'em and last night they couldn't hold a 7 run lead.
The days of Palmer, McGregor, Flanagan, and Martinez passing around the Cy Young are long gone.
Oh yeah, and as I feared Eaton's getting some starts.

So it appears I'm the only Mariners fan... Top of the AL West. Can they hold on or will they choke again this year. :censored:
My brother is a Skankees fan, and he has harassed me by email the last two mornings at work. It would be really nice if I got to return the favor, say, 95 times this year.

Completely dominant: Greinke dazzles
Starter goes distance in second straight game as streak ends

KANSAS CITY -- It was almost a perfect Friday night at Kauffman Stadium. Zack Greinke pitched a three-hit, 6-1 victory over the Tigers. A sellout crowd of 36,363 on a pleasant 79-degree evening urged him on. And by the time the Royals got home, they stood alone in first place.
The only flaw came when the Tigers scored in the fifth inning, ending Greinke's string of scoreless innings at 38. Well, that and the postgame fireworks being canceled because of high winds. But there was enough popping during the game to keep the fans vastly entertained.
Greinke was magnificent as he pitched his second straight complete game and boosted his record to 4-0. He struck out 10, boosting his total to 36 in 29 innings. And the Tigers' run scored on an error, so his ERA is still 0.00.
"It's just a magnificent job again -- that's all you can say," manager Trey Hillman said. "Just outstanding."
Greinke received all the runs he needed early. Mark Teahen belted a two-run homer off Tigers rookie Rick Porcello in the first inning, a drive into the left-field bullpen.
Thank you Greinke for the 73 points in my fantasy team last night.
Life in the Mid-South isn't great today.
Fox has given me the Cards/Cubs for my game of the week.
I'd much rather see the Yanks/Sox. :banghead:
I'll comment on the last one--the Newsday shot--in the NL thread. Let's just say . . . naah. You'll hafta go there.
Wrong picture -- that was a Yankees pic, but it seems they keep the URL the same.
Red Sox suck. :banghead:

Swept the 'Stros! Bring on those Yankee bastards!
I was actually dreading this game, because Santana was 1-3 with a 6.89 ERA lifetime, at Fenway. But, guess that the line holds true--You don't mess with the Johan. :-)
It was a horrible series. I am glad they pulled one out of their butts to avoid the sweep. Papi has to go down in the order, or out on a rehab assignment.
I am still cringing from Paps' blown save....
Congrats for taking the series though!

MLB vice president Bob Watson cited Youkilis for charging the mound, throwing his helmet at Porcello and inciting Tuesday night’s hostilities. Watson penalized Porcello for intentionally throwing pitches at Victor Martinez(notes) in the first inning and Youkilis in the second.
In addition, Detroit pitched Edwin Jackson(notes) was fined for what Watson said were aggressive actions.
They had been beaning each other since Cabrera was plunked in the 4th of Monday's game. Youkilis just happened to be the one that exploded.
Red Sox suck donkey balls.
That is all.
It will suck for you if they eliminate the Angels yet AGAIN in the first round......
Ah, what a difference a couple of days make.

Oh yeah, about those Broncos -- :evillaugh:
I don't see Marcia Brady exactly running it up either.
Following a toss to Red Sox pitcher Manny Delcarmen at home plate on Sunday, which was met with thunderous applause, Henderson repeated his trademark leap before playfully pointing toward the Angels' dugout.
BTW, Lurker--I didn't see this until someone mentioned it to me. It's just as well I hadn't... :censored: :censored:

For those who don't have video or would like a little more background, Dave Henderson was the guy who hit off Donnie Moore in the 1986 ALCS to send the Sox to the WS. The Angels were one strike away from winning the game (and the series) at that point. But they won that game and then won Games 6 and 7 in Boston. But Dave wanted to recreate 1986 and did his little dance off the mound and point at (I say TAUNT) the Angels bullpen on Sunday.
From the original article on MLB.com:
Real ****** classy, guys. Any respect I ever had for the SUX just evaporated. Classless whiny little bitchass losers. Enjoy your trip back to the cellar.
Angels suck.
Yankees, Dodgers in WS with Torre exacting his revenge against Georgie with the win.

As for Henderson? give me a break already. :whatever:
Fine. Next time the Sox are in Anaheim, we'll have Jack Hamilton throw out the first pitch and dance around when the Conigliaro cutout gets nailed in the eye again, and Jack will then point at the Boston dugout and laugh his ass off.
That sound fair to you?
HAHAHAHA -- if there weren't more Sox fans at your games than Angel fans then it would be funny actually..... listening to the booing that is........ :evillaugh:

It's amazing--beat down a Boston fan, and they come back for more. So far this year, the Angels have knocked out the Sox, the Ducks bitchslapped the Bruins (then again, so has everyone else), and my beloved Donks showed how shallow the Pats really are. Now all we need is the Lakers (once again) dominating the Celtics, and the universe will be restored to normal.
Try going to one of YOUR OWN GAMES before you start to pull crap about more Sox fans than Angels fans in Anaheim...and for the record, you're so full of crap on that one your eyes are brown.
:whatever:
The Sox knocked themselves out. Of course, the Yankees are now showing how "shallow" the Angels are, and without the total bullshit taunting call (we all know how sensitive you are to taunting), the Pats would have won that game.
Tell me, oh enlightened one, how much better would the Sux have fared? They certainly wouldn't have gone to extras last night.
Homerun derby park and your lineup can't do shat for shit? Come on. The Sox are doing nothing this year, and from the rumblings from Theo the wonderboy it looks like he is turning to young players -- no big name signings this off season. Not expecting much next year either.
The Yankees on the other hand... come on, they aren't that good. Your Angels need to pull three wins out of their ass at home. Remember when you used to beat them at will? Channel that now please.
Funny, I don't see you saying you would have won a series against the Yanks. Pray tell, why?
And yeah, I want the Angels to win. Deep down inside, so do you.
Uh, didn't I mention WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back midseason that the Red Sox are doing nothing this year?
I wouldn't mind seeing the Yankees win ONLY if the Dodgers had won, now it really doesn't matter either way.
Phils need a repeat here.
No, they don't. If the Yankees win, more than likely Johnny Damon will have had something to do with it. With the revelation by an ESPN reporter that Matt Holliday's top two destinations to play for next year are the Yankees and Mets (in that order), resigning Damon would put that position out of Holliday's reach, or so I hope. So, he'd be more likely to come to CitiField, even with his reservations about Citi's outfield dimensions.
SIX runs? The Angels bullpen BLOWS. Arggh.
