A very quaint expression, in a word where everyone's motives are pure and altruistic.  Only one problem--in the four stages to socialism, no government/person/leader ever seems to get past stage two--you know which one of which I speak.

Then again, in the old Soviet Union, they had an expression that went, "They pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work."  Sound familiar?

Socialism requires than the population as a whole co-operate when it comes to the means of production and distribution of goods. There's millions upon millions of citizens just like me who have no desire to associate with the political left in this country at all if it can be helped. Since it can't completely, then I limit it to the degree I am able.

But liberals are immoral, selfish trash. I don't care to work along side immoral, selfish trash for any cause.

No, I have no desire to co-operate with liberals when it comes to means of production and/or distribution of goods. So socialism cannot be realized without my willingness to go along, and that just won't happen.
