Hi folks,

In Daschle's book he said the reason that Hillary did not get health care reform passed was it took too long and the public had time to mount opposition.  So much for representative government representing us.....

Now I see that BO has set a deadline of July 31st to get it passed.....when most folks are on vacation etc.  Seems like he is about to ram through something that we will all regret for the rest of our lives.

I wrote my senators and representative and  a copy of the letter to our republican congressman follows.  I also plan to write Mr. Steele.

If there is any way to stop this travesty it is going to have to be some radical, newsworthy action on the part of the Republicans in congress.  Just like with Hillary, the more the public learns about what they are trying to do, the more negative the reaction will be.

And finally, I just saw BO say he is committed to allowing you to keep your own doctor.  Do not buy that BS...if a government bureacrat tells the doctor what he can and cannot do regarding YOUR health, and what they will and won't pay for, what difference does it make?  The plan is to take the medical choices away from you and your doctor so this is just a BS coverup to thwart the oppositon.

This issue is not like a stupid spending bill.  This bill will affect all of us and our families for the rest of our lives.  Please, I would encourage all of you to contact your representatives and start screaming.

regards,

Dear Adam,

EVAN IF ALL THE REPUBLICAN MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE HAVE TO WALK OUT OF THE CHAMBER PLEASE STOP THIS TRAVESTY.  DO WHAT YOU CAN TO MAKE SURE GOVERNMENT MANDATED HEALTH CARE DOES NOT PASS.

We do not need health care that rations health care to seniors, plunges our nation further into bankruptcy and is modeled after the failed system in europe.

We do not need a health care system that continues to treat people who are in this country illegally but does nothing to get them returned to their home county.

We do not need government burecrats makind medical decisions for our citizens, we can handle that between ourselves and our doctor.

The president has set a deadline for passage of the end of July so the educated public does not have time to mount resistance.  Please, for God's sake stop this idiotic travesty.

If it takes radical behavior on the part of the republican party to draw attention to this, please do whatever it takes.  Once the public finds out what really is included in the bill that the libs want they will react even more than they did on the stupid stimulus package.

regards,

I seriously doubt that all the Dems are going to be on board for this.  The health care industry, and even more so the health insurance industry, stand to have large and immediate damage from it, and both are quite well-heeled and intricately connected to many a Dem Congresscritter.  I would not expect them all to stay on the big bus to the end of the route on this one.

Hi,

God I hope you are right.  The problem I see is the strongarm tactics that are being used to bully things through.  The democrats will be very vulnerable to that.

This is one time where the entire public screaming sure will not hurt a thing, we have too much to lose by being passive.

Following is a copy of the letter I sent to Mr. Steele,

regards,
5412

Dear Mr. Steele,

I now see the president has set a deadline of July 31st to pass a health care bill.  He also said that he is committed to allowing you to keep your own doctor.

Let me address those issues before I continue.

In Tom Daschle's book he said the reason the Hillary health care plan did not pass was it took too long and allowed the public to mount opposition to the bill.  So much for representative government...

Mr. Steele, this is going to really see if the Republican Party is even a viable party anymore.  They must be united and committed to stop this legislation.  Specifically the following MUST be done.

1.  Use the quote from Mr. Daschle's book as a talking, screaming point if necessary, to alert the public what the president is trying to do.

2.  The idea of using your own doctor is BS as I indicated.  The public must be educated about this charade.

3.  There can be absolutely no comprimise on the part of any Republicans, zip, zero, nada...they must be in lock step.

4.  Republicans must try to stall the legislation with a provision that says that treating a person who is in this country illegally will NOT be reimbursed by the federal government unless there is action started by the medical provider to have them deported.

5.  AND FINALLY, THE ENTIRE REPUBLICAN PARTY MUST BE COMMITTED TO RADICAL ACTION IN ORDER TO DRAW ATTENTION TO WHAT IS GOING ON.  FORGET THE CRAP YOU WILL RECEIVE FROM THE MEDIA, THE PUBLIC HAS TO BE EDUCATED SO THEY CAN MOUNT OPPOSITION.  I WOULD ENCOURAGE ALL REPUBLICAN MEMBERS OF THE CONGRESS AND SENATE TO WALK OUT OF THE CHAMBER AND STAY OUT IF THEY HAVE TO IN ORDER TO DRAW ATTENTION TO WHAT TRAVESTY IS ABOUT TO TAKE PLACE.

Mr. Steele, this bill is unlike a spending bill, this will hurt out citizens for the rest of our lives and those of future generations. IT HAS TO BE STOPPED.

Please mobilize the Republicans and do whatever it takes, with no compromise, to get this done.

regards,

Unfortunately, it may not matter if every single Republican walks out or votes no.  The Dems have suggested that they may use "reconciliation" to ram a bill through congress, and only 50 votes would be needed. Pelosi,Reid and 0Bama adamant about getting a bill passed before the end of the year.  I think they know that after the 2010 elections, they may no longer enjoy the majority they have now.

If they do this, they will suffer when (not if) this plan fails.  Every senior citizen who has a lifesaving procedure denied by a bureaucrat will be a living, breathing talking point, and there will be only one way the finger can point, straight at the dims.  I don't care how many dims are committed socialists, seeing their own or their parent's (and let's not forget how many statists live in Mom's basement) health care yanked out like Lucy's football will make them angry.

Hi,

To me that is more the reason for the Republicans to walk out.....to differentiate themselves from the democrats.  If they pass it with 50, that is one more bit of proof they are not listening, nor are they concerned, about th voters that hire them.

In my opinion, it cannot be, "business as usual", it is the radical actions on the part of all the republicans that has to take place to be effective.

I do agree, there is not a damn thing that can be done to change the vote, they have the votes, but we can sure inform the public and put pressure on the democrats.  I understand there are a few of them waffling.  THE PRESSURE PUT ON BY THE VOTERS HAS TO BE INFINITELY GREATER THAN THE PRESSURE PUT ON THEM BY THE WHITE HOUSE.

It just has to be done.
