And you believed it all

They told you that Covid was a hoax
They told you it would disappear in the spring
They told you it was no worse than the flu
They told you that you could cure it by injecting disinfectants
They told you that you could treat it with horse de-wormer
They told you children were immune
They told you the vaccine was fatal

And you believed it all.

They told you the election was 'stolen'
They told you they had the 'evidence'
They told you that their audits would show it
They told you that their lawyers could prove it in court

And you believed it all.

They told you January 6 was 'just another tourist day' at the Capitol
They told you it was BLM, antifa, and the Democrats who rioted
They told you it was the FBI staging a false flag operation
They told you it was a peaceful protest
They even told you it actually never happened

And you believed it all.

If you've ever wondered why intelligent people think RWers are gullible fools, consider all of the above. It only takes a modicum of common sense to understand that only those with NO common sense believe in stories that change every day, in 'facts' that are often contradictory, or in an endless litany of predictions that never come to fruition.

Mike Lindell et al have yet to produce any evidence of a stolen election, Giuliani and Powell lost all of their court cases, prominent anti-vaxxers have died of Covid, and those who know what happened on January 6th are refusing to even discuss that knowledge, no less testify about it under oath.

It truly boggles the mind that anyone with a functioning brain can continue to ignore the obvious - but then, I'm not a member of the party that believes in Jewish Space Lasers, liberals eating children sacrificed in the basement of a DC pizza place, or drinking my own urine while awaiting JFK Jr. to resurrect himself from the dead in order to run as Trump's vice-president in 2024.

1. I don't think most Trumpians ate that introspective.

They just turn off the parts that don't make sense.

At least that has been my experience. I don't think it has ever occurred to them what affect what they are espousing would have on their daily lives. They like houses and electricity and heat and air conditioning. They like living in their subdivision where they send their kids to good public schools. And on and on.

Even the most radical like their trucks and being able to drive on roads

They simply haven't thought this through. They should look at how most Russians live.

1. doesn't think
2. doesn't want to think
3. wants someone else to think for them.

It's that easy.

9. I get what you mean but it was drumpf more than "they" who called the hoax.

He killed 800,000 (maybe 1,000,000) as it could have been contained had he acted on time.

Like Australia did: < 3000 dead from covid

17. The future of QAnon, explained by 8 experts

If you’re a hardcore QAnon believer, you had high hopes for January.

Among other things, you expected Donald Trump to remain president. You expected mass arrests and public executions. You expected an underground cabal of child-trafficking Democrats to finally be captured.

None of those things happened.

Instead, Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States. So if you’re one of those people — perhaps millions — who were deeply invested in the various QAnon conspiracy theories, the past few weeks likely produced an immense amount of dissonance.

and the hits just keep coming.

31. The answer to this is...

Ridicule.
They need to be ridiculed. Yeah it's a little mean, but ridicule has a valid place in public discord. (of course the righties have weaponized it)
I was talking with a friend about this and he said "yes their ideas are RIDICULOUS...".

Then i realized I've been trying logic, forget that. They've fortified their minds against that, but Ridicule someone over this stuff and that will sink in.
Have you ever known that coworker who doesn't listen over and over. You can say it again and it will still pass through one more time, but make fun of him not listening, then his ears will pick up.

That's where we have to go from here, we tried being nice, and logical, and patient, now it's time to ridicule the stupid shit they want to believe.

Practice loudly unpacking the stupid chain of idiocy:
"So i need to believe that millions of 'dumb' migrants somehow cast millions of illegal votes in hundreds of jurisdictions, and then covered it up, without leaving a shred of evidence behind? I mean the only people who i see getting busted for voter fraud are comfy republicans in the villages. Are you telling me that a million Mexicans can all simultaneously commit the perfect crime, but well heeled republican retirees are just too stupid to manage it?
Is that what you expect me to believe?"

etc...

We need to get back to ridiculing the ridiculous.

33. All true but we ignore these fools at our peril

It's easy to discount the Radical Right as "gullible fools" but we can't forget that they have the power to destroy everything we've worked to achieve here in America.

The neo-fascists have the roadmap in hand to the next successful coup and they have the propaganda machine to make it happen. Where is our roadmap to defend our democracy? Democrats and apathetic Americans have been living in la-la land far too long.

It's easy and feels good to dismiss the right-wingers as bumbling idiots but we have to understand that these idiots may well have their boot on our necks in 2025.

And you believed it all

They told you that Covid was a hoax  :rotf: No, they didn't. More specifically, Trump did not call Covid a "hoax".
They told you it would disappear in the spring  :rotf: Close, but no cigar. Trump said it might die down with warmer weather, as flu does. Learn the difference between "would" and "might", Garrulous Sot.
They told you it was no worse than the flu  :rotf: Close, maybe a Cigarillo. There are idiots out there claiming this, but they are few and easily mocked.
They told you that you could cure it by injecting disinfectants  :rotf: No, they didn't. More specifically, Trump did not. The transcript of the relevant April 23rd press conference is available online here, https://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts/donald-trump-coronavirus-press-conference-transcript-april-23 . The lie is based on comments at the 29:46 and 34:05 points. In the first Trump was talking about a device developed by Cedars-Sinai Hospital and licensed to Aytu BioScience for production, https://apnews.com/press-release/accesswire/b44f4531071e6204023f7b8e16f59d4b which can bring UV light inside patients' lungs. At about 34:05, a reporter - not Trump - made the first mention of bleach in the conference. Trump's response made clear they were talking about cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, not about injections.
They told you that you could treat it with horse de-wormer  :rotf: In the real world outside of Garrulous Sot' Thunderbird bottle, ivermectin is on WHO's List of Essential Medicines. Even some DUpipo know this.
They told you children were immune  :rotf: "Low risk" would be more accurate, but Garrulous Sot has long been estranged from accuracy and precision.
They told you the vaccine was fatal  Close, maybe a Cigarillo. There are idiots out there claiming this. I have fun mocking mocking their pig crap, which pisses them off, :rotf: . Does Nance know that one of the anti-Covid-vaxxers making pig-crap claims like this is RFK Jr. (Yes, THAT RFK's son)?

:rotf: They told you Trump is Putin's and Russia's spy. They lied.

:rotf: They told you Trump's 1/6 speech inspired the 1/6 mob. They lied.

:rotf: They told you 1/6 was an armed insurrection. They lied. Even the FBI has admitted that the only guns inside the Capitol were those carried by Capitol Police.

Like nadinbrezenski, her MO doesn’t change, and it’s becoming increasingly boring.

I disagree.  Nance is a one-trick boxed wine swilling pony and incapable of posting anything other than long, boring, drunken rants about Republicans.  She has always been a tedious, self-absorbed ass with no redeeming features and nothing she's ever posted has even been remotely interesting.
Nadin kept her posts entertaining by truly believing that she had a greater understanding of almost all knowledge known to man.  She displayed her ignorance on such a wide range of topics that almost every one of her posts was chuckle-worthy.  Her ability to stubbornly refuse to acknowledge her errors when provided with factual information was a glory to behold.  I miss reading her posts, because she picked such a wide variety of subjects to write about and would be wrong about 99% of the time (which was entertaining in itself), but her follow-up posts where she insisted that she was correct in light of contradictory information was always hilarious to read.
I would vote Nance off the Island to get Nadin back in a heartbeat.
