This is scary. Today, at work, I pulled up DU and I was logged in...
Advertisements [?]Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 07:27 PM by KC2
... but I know I'd logged off, the last time I used du! The really scary part? I know I shut down my computer at work completely & restarted it (as I do every night before I leave) on Friday.

Am I being paranoid, or has this ever happened to anybody else?

Shouldn't shutting down and restarting a computer clear out cookies & log a person out?

It sort of freaked me out. Needless to say, I didn't feel comfortable posting anything from work!

p.s., I think I'll change my DU password now, too, while I'm thinking about this.

I am a computer idiot but the answer is no.

Some sites do,some don`t guessing it has something to do with the type of cookie they use.

Total time logged in: 7 days, 22 hours and 33 minutes.

I never log out out, even when I shut the computer down.  If a site allows me the option of staying logged in "Forever", I do it.

Operation FoolADumbass is working I see.
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Cookies normally don't delete after power off. As for the other "hack" stories It wouldnt surprise me. DU is running on heavy modified yet ancient software. Id say its hackable.

OK, who pulled the trigger early?????

Someone popped Operation "DUmbass" a tad too early.

The CIC Section will find you.  Teh Rove has already issued the orders.

"All you have to do is look straight and see the road, and when you see it, don't sit looking at it - walk!" -Ayn Rand

"Those that trust God with their safety must yet use proper means for their safety, otherwise they tempt Him, and do not trust Him.  God will provide, but so must we also." - Matthew Henry, Commentary on 2 Chronicles 32, from Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible

I try to stay logged in forever, but my wife usually gets bored of it.
