Title: CNN's CEO Zucker Resigns TODAY
Post by: Eupher on February 02, 2022, 12:46:56 PM
Apparently he was sticking his wick in a consensual relationship and failed to disclose it.

Apart from that, you'd think that he'd resign for the really bad decisions he'd made over the past few years. Remember when CNN was the go-to news source? Then it turned into a pile of stinking shit, which by the way, resulted in Fox News' rise in the ratings.

But no, this time he's cashing in his chips for failure to disclose that he'd been banging the help.

I'm so old that I remember when BMM was deservedly nicknamed the Clinton News Network. Except for admissions-against-interest - stories that cross a Lib/Prog narrative or claim - I avoid BMM.

My understanding, at this point, is that the "investigation" of Cuomo incidentally exposed Zucker's undisclosed relationship with a VP. The problem leading to his resignation was not the relationship per se, but that he didn't disclose it as it was beginning. IOW, a violation of CNN's sexual harassment policies, not any sort of contractual morals clause (who expects moral behavior among the MSM, anyway?).

Both work. I went with "2001: A Space Odyssey" styling (HAL ----> IBM).

More stuff, which is starting to smell oh-so-democrat-leftist.

Sorry, but there's waaaay too much Twatter for me to wade through.

The big thing is Fredo Cuomo's knowledge of this "open secret" and whether he used it to blast Zucker for his own indiscretions.

I couldn't care less. I think the whole thing is hilarious and completely predictable.

Apparently Zucker's affair started at a previous employer, and when he came to BMM (2013?) he brought her over as well. Apparently their affair was an open secret among many at BMM.

Similar to Papa Doc Cuomo getting the ax for sexual misconduct while skating on killing thousands of senior citizens for the Wuhan, Zucker is getting the punishment for a lesser offense.  He's a divorced guy knocking boots with a fellow employee, but it isn't as if she was an intern or 1st year employee.  The gal was high up in the CNN hierarchy.

Zucker should be fired for causing their ratings to plummet and turning a once respectable news organization into a "We Hate Republicans" network.

Yup. She, apparently, was divorced too. Not like they've been screwing each other outside of their marriages. But even that, for the lefties, isn't a big deal.

Even with his sudden resignation, I'm reasonably sure his Golden Parachute will keep him in plenty of cash for years to come.

Jeff Zucker and Allison Gollust ‘lied’ for years about ‘open secret’ affair
https://nypost.com/2022/02/02/ousted-cnn-boss-jeff-zuckers-affair-with-his-colleague-allison-gollust-was-the-worst-kept-secret-in-tv-but-they-conspired-to-keep-it-out-of-the-media-for-years-with-a-web-of-lies-sources-told-the-post/

Quote
Ousted CNN boss Jeff Zucker’s affair with his colleague Allison Gollust was the “worst kept secret in TV” but they conspired to keep it out of the media for years with a web of lies, sources told the Post.

Rumors have circulated for years that CNN’s two most senior executives, who made the decision to fire anchor Chris Cuomo, have been having an affair, which played a part in ending both their marriages.

Multiple sources claim CNN president Zucker and the network’s Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Gollust have been involved in a secret romance for more than 10 years, even as they lived in the same Manhattan building on consecutive floors with their former spouses.

An open secret. Color me unsurprised. But wait, there is more.

New York Magazine: Jeff Zucker’s Relationship with Allison Gollust ‘One of the Biggest Open Secrets in Media’
https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2022/02/02/new-yorker-jeff-zuckers-relationship-with-allison-gollust-one-of-the-biggest-open-secrets-in-media/

Former CNN president Jeff Zucker’s romantic relationship with the network’s chief marketing officer, Allison Gollust, was apparently well-known to some in the media, according to a report.

New York magazine reports:

Zucker and Gollust’s relationship was one of the biggest open secrets in media. CNN staffers awkwardly navigated the pairing, since every time they dealt with her, they were keenly aware that she was involved with the boss. They were rolling their eyes at Gollust’s own statement that said “recently, our relationship changed during Covid.” It had been going on for much longer: Page Six would wink at it from time to time, and the two have known each other since they worked together at NBC decades ago.

Zucker on Wednesday morning announced he was stepping down from CNN after failing to disclose a relationship with a Gollust.

CNN insider says network 'needs to step up and fire Brian Stelter' for not exposing Jeff Zucker affair: report
https://www.foxnews.com/media/cnn-brian-stelter-jeff-zucker-affair-report

Quote
A CNN "insider" is reportedly calling for the firing of the network's left-wing media correspondent Brian Stelter for not exposing CNN president Jeff Zucker's romantic relationship with another high-ranking colleague, something that's been dubbed an "open secret" by critics.

Stelter, who has emerged as CNN's lackey whenever the network was swept up in controversy, has been all over CNN's airwaves on Wednesday to report on the sudden resignation of his boss, who admitted he failed to disclose a consensual relationship he had with another CNN executive.

However, a critic within CNN is now saying Stelter, too, should be on the chopping block and suggested no one should fall for his "stunned" reaction to the revelations.

Brian Stelter has some explaining to do.

The two almost sound like they had something like a "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice" thing going on for a while, being neighbors for a while. Or maybe Zucker's wife and Gollust's husband were clue-free about the years-long affair.

There's a lot of gossip-grade and semi-gossip-grade stuff going around, . One such is that many CNN folk are less than happy that Gollust hasn't been canned or left "voluntarily".

Eleven years ago, when Zucker was fired from NBC Universal, he reportedly secured a very cool $30 million golden parachute. I can well imagine it'll be double that now. Zuck made tens of millions along the way between salaries and bonuses and he's not hurting -- neither is his girlfriend whom he shielded along the way as she marched up the corporate ladder.

Follow the money, and there's a lot of it. Zuck got himself the cute nickname "Teflon Jeff" because he didn't learn from his mistakes and he kept being rewarded for making them. The latest pile of shit he created in CNN is simply the latest example. Zuck went all-in on the destruction of DJT and now that DJT's out of office, there was nothing to fill that void -- so CNN's ratings hit the skids and they're still crashing and burning.

Megyn Kelly on CNN: ‘Mark My Words — There Are More Shoes to Drop’
https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2022/02/03/megyn-kelly-on-cnn-mark-my-words-there-are-more-shoes-to-drop/

Quote
Megyn Kelly, host of SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show,” suggested there are more troubles ahead for CNN following Jeff Zucker’s resignation after it was revealed he had been in a sexual relationship with a colleague.

Zucker’s inappropriate relationship was unearthed as another network scandal, Chris Cuomo’s efforts to help his then-governor brother beat sexual harassment claims, was under investigation.

Kelly told Newsmax TV’s “Eric Bolling the Balance” on Wednesday that “there will be more shoes to drop.”

Jeff Zucker is the tip of the iceberg.

Quote
“There’s nothing I can report to you now, but mark my words — there are more shoes to drop,” Kelly replied.

Kelly went on to highlight how CNN legal analyst Jeff Toobin kept his job after masturbating on a work Zoom call, how network host Don Lemon has continued with his position after being credibly accused of fondling himself and then touching a stranger at a bar, and how Chris Cuomo held his job for some time after his attempted cover-up was realized.

“Well, now we know how,” she added. “The boss had dirt of his own, and he was worried that they would turn the tables and point the finger at him, and now it’s happened. And there’s more to this story.”

CNN's top talents slammed the top boss of the network's parent company over the ousting of president Jeff Zucker during an explosive meeting Wednesday and demanded to know whether or not he'd consulted anyone in the decision.

Anchor Jake Tapper demanded WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar address the 'perception' that Zucker lost his job by refusing to pay 'terrorist' Chris Cuomo the $18million remaining on his contract.
...
Chief Domestic Correspondent Jim Acosta also weighed in, alleging the network's core content and values will likely devolve in the wake of Zucker's resignation, forcing CNN to face 'pretty serious consequences.'

'If we had not had Jeff Zucker here during the Trump administration, we probably would have been taken out,' he said. 'You would have something like "Fox News Light" on CNN right now, no offense.'

Quote
In case you haven’t heard, CNN’s Jeff Zucker is out of a job. He resigned (not by choice) on Wednesday, bringing an end to his nine-year tenure as head of the liberal network. Ostensibly, the reason given was that he failed to disclose an affair with his long-time lieutenant, who is still employed by CNN. But there’s plenty of reason to believe that the story goes much further, and it appears to include misconduct regarding former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

During his stint, Zucker essentially ran CNN into the crowd probably a malaprop, with "ground" being what I think was meant), with a viewership drop of 80% residing on his record. Still, the hand-wringing at his departure was extensive. Examples began to surface of CNN hosts and staffers expressing outrage. How could they possibly replace someone who had failed so spectacularly?

That angst starts to make more sense, though, when you think of things in terms of preferred narratives. It wasn’t that Zucker was doing a good job by the numbers. The network was and is collapsing, after all. Rather, it was that he was protecting the right people, within the network and outside the network.

And when it comes to the latter group, it sure seems like the January 6th Committee was colluding with Zucker. What’s my evidence for such speculation? How about members of the committee asserting that Zucker’s departure represents a threat to “democracy?”

I'm guessing the 1/6 Shamvestigators are afraid they've lost their most reliable info-filter and PR sock puppet.

Similarly, BMM was a leader in promoting Goobernor Cuomo as the true leader wrt Covid that (in their lying narrative) Trump was not.

Part of bonchie's analysis doesn't make sense -- especially when you're paying attention to that 80% viewership drop that CNN/BMM has incurred.

We haven't ruled out complete stupidity, bubble-living, and incompetency with the 1/6 crowd, but apart from CNN excreting this fecal matter ad nauseum, NOBODY is paying attention.

Can't they see that everybody else recognizes the sham for what it is? And are tuning out?

Then again, Zuck is known for his failures, but pimping the idea that they can funnel info and exposure to CNN pretty much puts their idiotic faith in a  :loser:

Then again, we're talking Pelousy, Cheney, Kinzinger, and rest of the fools -- and I'm not even talking about the CNN talking heads.

Bonchie usually hits it out of the park, but I think the rest of the Lame Stream Media focus on ONLY the stuff that makes #SharterJoe look slightly less stupid than he is, and that pushes the narrative against DJT (which they continue to do). Bonchie didn't point that out.

Quote
CNN boss Jeff Zucker and his paramour Allison Gollust had an inappropriately close friendship with former Gov. Andrew Cuomo — personally calling him to do news segments with his brother Chris Cuomo and even coaching him on what to say during his infamous COVID briefings, The Post has learned.

Gollust and Zucker — the latter of whom dramatically quit CNN Wednesday after their affair was exposed — also gave Andrew Cuomo endless positive coverage because of their relationship, sources said.
...
According to a source to Cuomo, “Zucker and Gollust even advised Andrew what to say — how to respond and particularly how to hit back at [President Donald] Trump to make it more compelling TV.

So it wasn't just BMM manglement tolerating the Cuomo-Cuomo conflict of interest. It was Zucker and Gollust leading the way, hands on, so to speak. I guess that Trump being out of office has diminished BMM's usefulness to the Dems, and Cuomo, Cuomo, and Zucker got the chop. BMM is taking out some of their trash, but reform isn't happening. BMM has plenty more trash left to carry out their partisan mission in the 2022 election and a MSM echo chamber to amplify their partisan crap.

^^Tend to agree, especially since the hard left turn that Zuck forced on CNN, which - by all accounts - USED to be somewhat centrist. IOW, the talking heads marched to Zuck's drumbeat, did what they were told, and completely reinforce the idea they're talking heads and NOT journalists.

I tend to wonder if Zuck would still be in power had he not shitcanned Fredo. I would think so. "Live and let live" seems to have been the overall motto that all of these cretins were living under. Zuck and Mollusk's relationship was reportedly an "open secret" which doesn't make it secret any more. Yet they all were comfortable living in their bubbles and were not willing to rock the proverbial boat -- that is, until Zuck made the first move.

I think the whole damned thing is hilarious.

Nolte: CNN Anchors Defend Their Role in the Cover-up by Defending Jeff Zucker
https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2022/02/04/nolte-cnn-anchors-defend-their-role-cover-up-defending-jeff-zucker/

Quote
Because they’re all guilty of participating in the conspiracy and cover-up, CNN’s anchors have no choice but to defend Jeff Zucker’s sleazy affair with a subordinate.

On the air, on the CNN website, and in private meetings, we now know that, among others, Jake Tapper, Dana Bash, Alisyn Camerota, and Brian Stelter are vigorously defending Jeff Zucker.

Earlier this week, the CNN chief was forced to resign after his affair with a subordinate was uncovered during an internal investigation. Zucker’s sidepiece also happens to be the number two person at CNN. What’s more, she was being floated as Zucker’s replacement should he ever decide to exit the network. And I’m sure the fact that she was willing to take a bald, overweight, middle-aged gnome into her bed had nothing to do with her rise to the top.

But here’s the thing…

Zucker’s unethical relationship was an open secret at CNN. In fact, it was an open secret for years. And while Alllison Gollust claims the relationship only turned sexual this last couple of years, no one believes her. There are credible reports Zucker and Gollust were doing the bad thing all the way back to 1997 when Mr. Gnome and Madam Sidepiece worked at NBC.

CNN knew about this. I suspect there is more to this.

CNN chief media correspondent Brian Stelter was in the mood for some "reliable sauces" early Thursday morning after a long day covering his boss Jeff Zucker's sudden departure from the network.

Stelter described making a late-night run to a popular American fast-food chain during the latest episode of his Reliable Sources podcast, which was obtained and reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

After attempting to poke fun at the "cold Italian soup" his CNN colleague Oliver Darcy had for lunch, the host conceded: "That's better than me getting McDonald's at 12:30 in the morning last night after we finished work."

Brian Stelter is sad by Jeff Zucker's departure. :sosad:

Chris Cuomo 'to get $9m from CNN': Fired anchor 'will be paid half his contract to stop him filing lawsuit claiming that Jeff Zucker and Allison Gollust had ethically dubious relationship with Andrew Cuomo'
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10475671/Chris-Cuomo-9m-CNN-half-contract-stop-filing-lawsuit-Jeff-Zucker-Allison-Gollust-relationship.html

Quote
Fired CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, who was hoping to secure an $18million lump sum payout following his departure last year, has been told to set his sights lower, with him unlikely to receive anything more than around $9million from the cable news network.

AT&T, CNN's parent company, is said to be in negotiations to reach a deal that would see the fired anchor receive half of the $18million he had been vying for before Jeff Zucker's unexpected resignation Wednesday, as first reported by the New York Post.

The news of a possible settlement emerged as the CNN employee and lover who led to Zucker's  downfall, Allison Gollust, was seen arriving at her luxury Manhattan apartment late Thursday night looking distinctly sullen.

Gollust's expression was a far cry from the happy mood she was in last November when she was photographed at a Billy Joel concert with Zucker by her side - and alleged to have forced the powerful media maven to 'come forward' and resign 'not willingly.'

This sounds like hush money.

A bombshell report from The New York Times revealed new details about what led to the firing of CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.

Cuomo was initially suspended by CNN over revelations from the New York Attorney General's report that exposed his involvement in protecting his brother, disgraced ex-Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, during the governor's sexual harassment scandal.

However, the "Cuomo Prime Time" host was ultimately terminated after the network learned about a sexual misconduct allegation made by a former junior colleague of his during their time at ABC News.

Jeff Zucker was covering for Chris Cuomo.

Gee; a Cuomo engaging in unwanted sexual contact with a woman he's not married to? Who'd believe such a fantastic tale?

Talk about an entire family of poster children for a quick, merciful eugenics campaign...

New details emerge in Chris Cuomo assault scandal

New details regarding allegations of sexual assault against former CNN host Chris Cuomo were revealed in a lengthy report on the timeline of events involving Cuomo, former CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker, and former CNN Chief Marketing Officer Allison Gollust and their eventual falls from grace.

The report, published Tuesday by the New York Times, describes an allegation against Cuomo by an anonymous "Jane Doe."

Debra S. Katz, the attorney for the accuser, sent a letter to CNN in December detailing the sexual assault her client allegedly suffered at the hands of Cuomo when they worked together at ABC News.

According to the report, Cuomo offered the accuser career advice in 2011, when she was a temporary employee at ABC. After inviting the young woman to lunch in his office, Cuomo propositioned her, allegedly harassing her to have sex with him before assaulting her.

It gets more disturbing.

CNN turmoil: Allison Gollust reportedly sent topics to producers Andrew Cuomo wanted to discuss in interview

New details are emerging about the conduct of former CNN executive Allison Gollust, who resigned from the network this week.

Reports previously indicated that she and then-CNN president Jeff Zucker had given "talking points" to then-Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the early months of the pandemic.

However, a new report from The New York Times alleges Gollust, who previously worked for Cuomo as a communications aide, forwarded topics the governor wanted to discuss for a CNN interview in March 2020, a revelation from the network's internal investigation.

Allison Gollust forwarded questions to then New York Governor Andrew Cuomo back in March 2020 during COVID pandemic.

March 2020, when Cuomo was one of the Dems' big Trump-attackers on Covid, was two years ago. The Cuomos and BMM are over a year past their usefulness expiration date, so it's safe to start revealing how partisan-cozy BMM was.

Whether throwing away useful tools is a good idea in the long-term ...?

Brian Stelter on Zucker, Cuomo Exits: ‘This Is a Legal Mess for CNN’

CNN media reporter Brian Stelter said Sunday on his show “Reliable Sources” that his network faces a “legal mess” from executives Jeff Zucker, Allison Gollust, and anchor Chris Cuomo’s exits.

Stelter said, “When CNN President Jeff Zucker abruptly resigned this month, people wondered if another shoe was going to drop. Zucker tied his exit to his failure to disclose a romantic relationship with Allison Gollust  But was there more to the story? A few days ago, Gollust also resigned, and now there are stories about the reasons why. It seems the second shoe was landed. Well-placed sources have told me the situation involves, quote, ‘serious ethical violations.’ Their reps have pushed back on that strongly, and CNN’s parent warner media is not sharing specifics.”

Brian Stelter admitted CNN is imploding.
