Title: Harry Reid Dies at 82
Post by: Eupher on December 28, 2021, 09:50:58 PM
I'll give Reid credit for one thing -- he chose to retire from the Senate rather than hanging on until they drag his corpse out. As the linked story mentions, he may have retired due to charges of corruption involving his son, land deals in Nevada, and the Chinese.

Sound familiar?

Anyway, condolences to his family. I hated the man's politics, but I understand he fought for what he believed in.

Reid fought for power, by all means fair or foul, the former mainly when convenient. Hopefully his family and friends find comfort in each other.

The devil just placed a large order of coal from china.

I hope all the pain and suffering he put on the American people is paid back in spades.

He was a 2-bit land-baron.

Buying-up property outside his property, so no turbine-towers would be visible from his front-porch.  But his neighbors would be stuck with seeing them from their front-porches.

Then there was the situation where he and his kid were clearing land to name highway rest-stops after each other.  I think they resolved that boondoggle.  His kid went-on to introduce China to Duke Energy.  Not sure whatever happened with that.

Eventually came the Bundy-Ranch 'free-range' blunder, when he and the BLM backed-down against 'American public-opinion' after bringing armed-troops against law-abiding ranchers.  I think that was part of the rest-stop boondoggle.

Obit Watch: Harry Reid
“Leaving a trail of slime behind him-”

Start over.

“A repugnant, repulsive reptile-”

Try again.

“What can be said about him that hasn’t already been said about bubonic plague?”

Strike that.

Man, I’m really having trouble staying on the high road for this Harry Reid obit.

It’s pretty much the job of the Senate Majority Leader to be the Bad Cop and hated by the opposition, but there was just something repugnant and unpleasant about late Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who just died at age 82. Certainly Chuck Schumer is no improvement, but still…

One big difference between Chuck the Schmuck and Reid (besides the fact that Reid is now dead).

Reid was competent in his evilness.

Chuck the Schmuck is just plain stupid.
