malaise (271,386 posts)Phew! Holy shit I'm backLast edited Fri Jul 5, 2024, 02:44 AM - Edit history (1)Major damage for thousands of people along the south coast as well as Portland in the NE, The worst hit parishes are Clarendon, Manchester and St Elizabeth which has been devastated. So far we know about three deaths. All I had was a lack of internet and cable service. We did not even lose power which is amazing given that 65% of the island has no power.Water has been on and off.It is mostly coastal folks who have lost everything and I mean everything. Apparently the worst of Bertha hit our beloved St Elizabeth (St Bess) , Manchester and Clarendon while coming real close to the rest of us along the South Coast.Haven’t been able to speak with a really close friend in St Bess - everything is down including homes, lots of roofs.Island wide it isn’t as bad as Gilbert, but don’t say that to thousands on the coast. Thanks for all the good thoughts. Love DU Now to see if you locked up the monster while I was gone.I see that you removed the British scumbags.😀https://youtu.be/hG5soty2Ucghttps://www.democraticunderground.com/100219105501
