Post by: PatrickMahoney on August 28, 2011, 05:34:18 PM
"You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

John 8:44

Islam, began in Mecca, claimed to be the revelation of God (Allah) through the angel Gabriel to a man named Muhammad. Muhammad was born in approximately AD 570-571. He was born to the powerful tribe of the Quraish in Mekkah (Mecca). His father's name was Abdullah. His mother's name was Aminah.

As the citation in OP refers to those who take a legalistic interpretation of salvation it could be argued that such a verse could apply to the more legalistic schools of Islamic doctrine...but then the same thing could be said of any sect or creed including a few contemporary American Christian strains.

If the OP presumes to claim that the Nazarene, while speaking to a live audience, was presaging the advent of Islam half a millennium later I would ask if the OP was as equally well-versed and determined to see the injunctions against false prophecy, heresy and word-twisting carried to their dutiful end.
