Anyone tried the new Medal of Honor? I have a copy sitting on my computer, but alas no time.
Cheers,
Peter Suciu

Not I. Sorry.
-
I just got it for my son for his Play Station I can't wait for Christmas to play with him
-
I heard it was okay. Got average marks from some critical publications, like IGN, that I respect.
-
Ive had it for a while now. Am on my second time thru it. Luv it. :)
Thoroughly enjoyed the previous one too.
Also Crysis, Sniper Elite and Max Payne - all 3 editions.
-
C.O.D: Black Ops. All I'm gonna say.
:p
-
Yup. COD was/is excellent too. I knew I forgot one or two .... or three.

I personally prefer ArmA II (www.arma2.com) because you can drive or command vehicles in addition to fighting on foot.
-
Arma? Is that an abbr. for "America's Army?"

No. It is short for Armed Assault. It is not so much a first person shooter than it is a tactical war simulation. You have infantry, armor, air, artillery, drones, plus freedom of choice on how to achieve your mission (many missions takes place in a large 'sandbox' map several kilometers wide).
-
Oh nice! I'll have to visit that site, Dom. Thanks for that.
By the way, people should not play America's Army. I haven't played it for many years, but it ws OK at the start. Now...there are hackers everywhere. It's actually that way with many FPS's. :argh:

Help!!
Thinking of getting my son either Medal of Honor or Call of Duty.
He has a PS 3.
29 and was in the Navy. He's in college now for mechanical engineering.
I know nothing about these games...which one do I get?
Amazon has them both on sale.

Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Thanks!!
I know this is probably a really dumb question, but is this a fairly new game? I'm pretty sure he hasn't bought any new ones in the last year...

Yes, it was released in Nov. to capitalize on Christmas buys.

You are wonderful!!! You just answered my last "what do I get for...?"

I happened to be in the Ft. Leonard Wood, MO PX over the weekend and as I had a few minutes to browse, I meandered over to the e-games section.
You have to understand the last game I played with any kind of frequency at all was Doom, and I think Wolfenstein 3D was in there too. So it's been awhile. :p
Anyway, I came across the first edition(s) of MoH dating back to 2002, something like 10 games for $20. I installed it, but I'm unable to bring up the actual FPS part of the game - only the Multiplayer, which I'm not interested in. So my character - LT Powell - wanders around various places, i.e., a bombed out town and a snowy park, looking for bad guys that aren't there. (Nobody wants to play this archaic game anymore since the megapixel version is now out, but hey, I'm still okay with fractal graphics to some degree... :lmao: )
I've not completely read the owner's manual (no time over the weekend to do a deep dive), but I'm wondering if there is something during the installation process that says to install the actuall FPS part of the game? WTF did I do wrong during installation?
Otherwise, the game runs fine, even on WIN7 running at 32 bits. I understand that running some of these older games at 64 bits can't be done.....
-
Yes Eupher, during the install there is usually an option to lean more towards online or to single player. This is also offered in some of their games after the fact. But the configuration might be harder to find. I dont remember if it is in this particular one. Its worth looking into though or just uninstalling and re-installing while watching for the options along the way.
I know this as I have to install so much stuff for so many people over the course of time as one of my (paid for) 'hobbies' is repairing, building or rebuilding and/or reconfiguring peoples computers for them. Also I luv all the great FPS games. MOH is a GREAT game thru and thru. The end result is well worth the hassle imho. :)

Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Thanks to you.....we hung the moon!!!
T was thrilled to get this game. He gloated to my son-in-law...who didn't get it!
Also picked up Assassins Creed -Brotherhood (?) for him. Toys'r'us had a great deal when we were in there on Wednesday. Buy one at full price and second one was $20. He was really excited over it too. Apparently it takes forever to just go through the "details" in order to play the game.
He needs stuff that really challenges him, or he's too bored to bother, and these two seemed to fit that requirement. Son-in-law is coming for dinner tomorrow night, and back on New Year's Day...I have the feeling the guys will be disappearing downstairs!! :-)
