Title: Trivia answer question
Post by: thelaughingman on March 30, 2011, 01:13:17 PM
Remember how on the old game shows (and probably still on Jeopardy), when a person gave a very general answer, they were given a chance to "be more specific"?  (I particularly remember this happening on Family Feud.)  What about when the opposite happens?  Let me give you an example from a recent Trivial Pursuit game.  The question was about what the Superfund Act addresses and the answer given was "nuclear waste."  That answer is technically correct, but too specific since the Superfund Act covers all sorts of toxic materials.  Would you ask the person to be less specific?
