I'm not quoting the article like I usually do because I am to an extent using it as a pretext and ruse for calling out coach franksolich.
I want everyone, and especially coach franksolich to answer a question.
What other crime is diminished by the passage of time more than illegal immigration?
I hear all the time from the left and ostensibly from the right about how the illegals who have been here 20 years deserve consideration.
I want to hear comments, discussion, answers, and conservative thought from all my fellow cave members.
But I especially want to hear from coach franksolich because if he weighs in that will be just about the strongest impetus for the rest of the cave to follow suit.

Yup. You either came in through the gate, in which case you went through the process, or you came in through the back of the property, in which case you should get the hell out.
Its not complicated, which is why the left tries to muddy the waters as much as they can like every other simple topic. Just because some immigrant has a dream in which they came here illegally and were granted amnesty doesn't mean that we citizens or the nation are responsible for making it happen. For any progladyte that disagrees, I have a dream in which everyone comes in through the gate. I was born here and my dreams take priority over theirs.

If you are here illegally, you are persona non grata. You do not exist. If you are a government employee or private citizen that decides to break these laws, you should lose your business license, property, and freedom.
It should not cost the gummint a single dime to enforce these policies.

I'm comfortable with the consequence for government employees and governmental officials being one of termination and lifetime prohibition from holding government office or position, at a minimum. If there are offenses that can cause a lifetime ban on gun ownership, I see no reason not to have at least that for those that harbor/enable illegals.

The apologists like to throw up their hands and scream, "You can't physically deport 13 million illegals! It's impossible!" And they may have a point.
But where they pop up -- in traffic stops, in routine investigations, in attempts to use forged ID, there should be no doubt that we can and should bill the government from which the bastards came for their processing, food, shelter, clothing, and delousing, along with their travel costs back to their home country. And if the country doesn't want to pay, we freeze their assets until they do.
As long as they stay under the radar, they are persona non grata. They can't get a bank account, they can't collect benefits, they can't get a job. Remove the impetus to be in this country and the bastards go away. It's real simple.

When it comes to the topic of illegal immigrants and the democrat party...
"Illegal Immigrant" is just lib/dem/socialist/prog code for illegal den voter.
I just look at other laws and the passage of time for those who have broken it and haven't been caught...
Murder...
Larceny...
Kidnapping...
Armed Robbery...
Corruption...
Molestation...
Rape...
Treason...
I know that for libs almost all of those crimes are resume enhancers if a lib commits them.
If a conservative commits any crime no matter how slight, the libs and mainstream media caterwaul until they get said conservative convicted or to withdraw out of the public light.
But the crime is not less egregious with the passage of time especially to the victims of the crimes.
I do know that many crimes have statutes of limitations, but even that doesn't in my mind reduce the original crime.
