How incredibly sad.


The article says Gaines had an enlarged heart. What I don't understand is how often, athletes who appear to be in the best of health....have heart problems that often result in premature death.

When are high schools, colleges and pro teams going to start doing mandatory extensive physicals on these players to check for heart problems before these athletes end up dead?
