A knock on my door early this evening.
Two young men, who simply wanted to know if I'd be voting this year. Oh, yes! I enthusiastically told them.

They were probably in their 20s. I'm 76, white hair, not Hispanic. I live in New Mexico, where most people are Hispanic. I am so amazed and pleased at how people like me (meaning not just not Hispanic, but being a relatively new resident) are welcome here.

Those two young men were wonderful. I assured them I'd be voting for Democrats and only Democrats, and as soon as possible in early voting.

This state should be a model for voting. We have excellent early voting here. You can go to any voting place in your county and vote there.

I have lived and voted in six different states, so I'm VERY aware of these things.
