The Zeus Virus- BEWARE!!

The Zeus Trojan, called the “most dangerous virus ever created” has stolen £675,000 from a British financial institution, and it isn’t done yet.

It is like the plot of a Hollywood movie, only the bad guys are definitely winning so far. Earlier this week, the internet security group M86 uncovered a Trojan virus targeting an unnamed financial institution in the UK. The “Zeus Trojan” has already siphoned off over $1 million from over 3,000 British customers between July 5 and August 4, and it shows no signs of stopping.

Thanks for the heads up! That has to be the most dangerous virus/trojan out there. Whoever is behind this virus needs to be punished harshly.

ETA:

A little tip for our more uninformed 'puter users, always, always, always, use a router or some form of FireWall! Did I say always?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never ever, if it can be helped, hook your 'puter directly to your high speed modem!

Its stuff like this that makes me glad to be a Linux user. But even so, I am behind a router= with a hardware firewall - a Linksys WRT54G v2 modded with DD-WRT firmware. noting goes into or leaves the home network without me knowing about it.

I wasn't that impressed with it - Tomato has a nicer interface, but I just don't like the feel of it. DD-WRT suits me well, as the router I have is one of the 16MB models, allowing me to load up the full feature set with ease. And it never crashes. The only time I have ended up resetting the router has been when I unplugged it to move it, or we had a power outage.

Not a chance. Their Geek Squad members aren't computer literate enough to write virus programs.
