Good looking family all around(I'm assuming this is before the youngest made his appearance)

I agree! Good looking kids! From what I understand her husband is a commercial fisherman! A real mans man! :cheersmate:

But, if he's a real man's man, how come she's in elected office, working, and now in the running mate of the presidential hopeful. /DUmode off :evillaugh:
Is her name hyphenated?...There you have it! :-)

She probably brings her paycheck home to 'daddy' and then shuffles off to wash dishes and fall into bed for her obligatory wifely duties every night. //double DU mode off.  :uhsure: :-)
A good girl all the way around then! :-)

Also Fox said she is an avid sportswoman who loves to hunt and fish, and she is a lifetime NRA member.
Cool.  A V.P. with better aim than Cheney.   :fuelfire:

Excellent pick!!  I can finally muster some enthusiasm for the ticket......I also heard this morning that her husband is part Eskimo (that will s'plode some DUmmie heads), and in the fishing off-season, works in the (oil fields on the north slope (a hated "oil man").  An average working guy to appeal to the union folks......

She is also a lifetime NRA member, and both she and her husband are avid hinters and fishermen......her husband is also three-time winner of the 2000 mile snowmobile race held in Alaska each year.....

I'm stoked!!!

Awesome, awesome, awesome. I'm so jazzed about this.

my mother in law called from Canada to tell us this morning and I immediately got so jazzed about her! I think Obama's comment about her was so small and petty - especially after McCain congratulated him last night on his historic speech.

Palin looks to be a classic conservative and she's going to energize the base - I know I sure am this morning.

Can you imagine Biden trying to snark at this woman?? She looks and sounds pretty tough...

GOOD JOB McCAIN!  :cheersmate:

I wonder how her perceived "lack of experience" is gonna play out through this whole thing now, as that is such a big factor with Obama. McCain kinda threw that card right out of the deck with his VP choice.

Interesting pick indeed, though.

The difference between Sarah Palin and Teh Obamessiah is that teh Obamessiah has - what? - 140 days on the books as the JUNIOR Senator from the state of Illinois.  No important pieces of legislation, no stirring oratories from the well of the Senate chambers and - dispite his claims to the contrary - no keystone positions on important Senate committes.

By contrast, Sarah Palin has been the chief executive for the largest state in the union.  She beat the pants off an Incumbent Republican Governor WITHOUT party support and in spite of being seriously outspent by the Democrat challenger.  Prior to that she chased an incumbent Mayor out of his office on a platform of fighting wasteful spending and reducing property taxes.  She's been the head of Alaska's Ethics commission as well.

Add to all this that she has a son who's a soldier, another - the youngest of her 5 children - with Downs Syndrome (and probably still brighter than Obama bin Biden combined), and I see why the DUmmies are filling their britches.  They can't attack her position on abortion, on the military or on ethics in government without getting their heads handed to them on a ****in' purple cushion.

But one big thing in her favor is her Executive-branch experience, something neither Obama nor Biden have.

And as you have seen from Cujo (at SCC), the libs are basically shitting themselves right now.  I saw Beckel this morning and the mere mention of Palin sent him into the doldrums.  It's true--the Dems got nothing on her, no matter how they try to tie her to Stevens, etc. (and yes, they're already trying).

McC does only go one term its gonna be an epic catfight in 2012.

My money is on Sarah.  Point guards never lose.
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

Her husband is a "man's man", you say?  Well after comprehending this:

Quote
Sarah and Todd Palin have five children: boys Track, 19, and Trig, 4 months, and daughters Bristol, 17, Willow, 13, and Piper, 7. Track Palin joined the Army last September and will deploy to Iraq on Sept. 11. Palin gave birth to Trig, who has Down syndrome, in April and returned to work three days later.

I have to say that she is far more Woman than I could ever hope to be!  Holy crap, she's practically perfect.

I can just see "Slow" Joe wetting himself when he has to go out on the same stage with her during their debate.  If she can gut a moose without batting an eye, she can take apart bin Biden's bullshit - and then his ego - without breaking a sweat.
