SF Mayor says her city is drowning in poop: ‘there's more feces … than I've ever seen’

San Francisco Mayor London Breed said the streets of her city are flooded with the excrement of the homeless in an interview Friday.

Breed, a Democrat who was inaugurated as the San Francisco’s mayor Wednesday, urged homeless advocacy groups that receive money from the city to teach homeless people to “clean up after themselves.”

“There is more feces on the sidewalks than I’ve ever seen growing up here,” Breed told KNTV. “That is a huge problem and we are not just talking about from dogs — we’re talking about from humans.”

H5 for the 'Monk' nod! I still love that show, and I'm so happy that WE is showing marathons of it on Sundays now!
I cannot even imagine how Monk would react to that news! He'd probably recommend that S.F. be nuked!

She has committed the twin-heresy of acknowledging that there is a problem and that government has fostered rather than mitigated it. Whether she has the awareness and courage to do something meaningful remains to be seen (and I'm not optimistic).

the fact that they produce and update that map daily tells any sane person there there is a serious problem in that city.

I'd love to see overlays that show, individually, needle finds, homeless shelters, and needle "exchange" locations. Bet the correlation is >80%.

I don't remember reading anything in the constitution that gives you the right to do that, or how all those advocacy groups or the aclu could condone it.
