I didn't see any 2013 DUmmie thread, so I guess I'll make one if it's OK... Y'know, for the special posts at Democratic Underground that specifically stand out. Mostly for stupidity.

So, focus on being the best player in your school, and you'll get a sports scholarship and then if you stay on top of your game, you get a multi-million dollar contract with a team, a mansion, five sports cars, and anything else you want.

It may be racist to say this, but it seems like most of these problems started after sports became more integrated.  The rise of rap culture only further aggravated a problem that existed  in pro sports.
