EDIT:

NET WORTH, not annual income.

My apologies for not being more specific and clear. THANK YOU for the folks who pointed out that this was an important, critical factor in my question.

Yes, I'm speaking of NET WORTH.

Also, I'm adding another choice, of "other."

25. Because, this country's problems are about CLASSISM. The upper 1/10 of 1% own as much
 as the lower 50%.

NOT SINCE the Great Depression of the 1930s has there been a greater disparity between the "haves" and "have nots."

Wake up! Those whose families earn more should PAY MORE in income taxes.

THIS IS CLASS WAR - mostly trying to break up the mega-corporations.

Long thread, the two replies above give the flavour.  :-)

Pssssssssst fire crotch..........the families who earn more already do PAY MORE in income taxes.

If they have done something so few of you and your fellow dummies are familiar with - saved their money - are you suggesting they should pay more taxes based on the amount of their net worth?  Yeah, dummie - they've already paid taxes on that money.

It's not class war - it's class envy on the part of the dummies.

$500,000 Net Worth should be taxes relentlessly .......

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  These folks treat money and numbers like the Little Rascals did.  "$5.00!!  That's almost a MILLION".

$500,000 Net worth isn't squat and they don't realize it.  What a bunch of losers.

This is going to sound stupid but it's the way I want things.

My NET WORTH is over a million.....but it's not income producing....so I'm poor, like a DUmmie. Right?

NET WORTH and NET INCOME are worlds apart....that's why DUmmies don't know squat of which they talk.

In south Florida, before I left, a crap-shack house with a zero lot line in the middle of the cruddiest part of the city would set you back $250,000. A decent house was at least $320,000. So by DUmmie standards...

I will be interested in these polls when they include lower income ranges. I personally think a family of 4 can live quite happily on $20,000 a year so would have no problem on voting to tax the crap out of someone making over $20k a year.

There are spats, there are a bunch that suddenly realize "Hey...this would apply to ME!!!"

If they were really honest about their beliefs there would be an option on that poll for "$0.01 and beyond more than my net worth"

Actually, this might fit better, just from a semantic standpoint:

"To futility, and beyond!"

"All you have to do is look straight and see the road, and when you see it, don't sit looking at it - walk!" -Ayn Rand

First, you have to think like a Little Goon.  Their thinking consists of stereotypes designed to fit their emotional agenda.  That means when they speak of "the wealthy" they automatically assume the wealthholder is a conservative who votes for Republicans.  This allows their simplistic nose-length thinking to make sense.  It's OK to punish the non-liberals.

Of course, none of their childish thinking is based on reality.  The Little Goons' burning desire is to use taxes as a club with which to bash conservatives over the head.  In their little beady brains, it will somehow be used to bash only conservatives over the head.  Rich democrats and liberals in the Little Goon World need not worry.

The Little Goon lack of understanding of economics is legendary.  They have no ability to distinguish between "wealth" and "income".  What they really want is seizure of assets belonging to conservatives.  They are just too stupid, immature, scatterbrained, and unfocused to be able to verbalize it.

I suppose that depends on your definition of "happily," and probably is based on one or both of the grandparents providing the shelter and covering the utilities.  I drive used cars until they fall apart, but if I had to pay for housing, food, clothing, and utilities out of that for a family of four, I wouldn't even be able to replace a dead junker with a runner when the time did come.  You would also have to be on Medicaid for the kids to have necessary medical care (no teeth, of course), or (ab)use ERs a lot, which is really effectively adding to your income at the expense of others, so it isn't really just $20,000 anymore.

What the DUmmie means is 20K of  "spending money" , or 20K to spend on whatever the heck they want to.

All regular living expenses , etc are to be taken care of by taxpayers. Cars , heat, food ,housing  and medical are rights dammit so someone must give them out free and without condition.

That is a good point.  When the average person who has been working for 20 or 30 years adds up accumulations in 401Ks, pensions, even SSI, and, of course, the house, then 1 million iis on the low side.  It also isn't even close to enough to retire on.

I don't know how anyone can be considered "wealthy" in this terrible Obama economy. My work load has been cut in half (actually more than in half) since O and the dims took over. If I ever get my pony I'll probably have to pawn it instead of own it.

I always figured the DUmmies viewed the bums who get the first crack at the dumpster nightly behind Benihana to be the "richest". Sort of a short-sighted, transiental "King of the Mountain" perspective, if you will.

Oh, I dunno.

I consider Playboy Pedro wealthy, and would like some of his, at least his second home.

After all, 0bama promised.

In case one isn't aware of this, Skins's island is infested, absolutely infested, with what people of modest means would consider "wealthy;" the Bostonian Drunkard comes immediately to mind, but there's lots more.
