The resignation calls came in response to his defense of NYPD officers in connection to an incident caught on video in which two NYPD vehicles were seen being driven into a crowd of protesters.

“We need a real Mayor. RESIGN, DeBlasio,” tweeted Mira Lew, a woman from Brooklyn.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has been hostile to NYPD. Now, the left wants him out because he defended them. Just over defending NYPD and is no longer progressive enough.

Defending the NYPD is the one decent and moral thing he has done.  Wild animals had surrounded were attacking a safari vehicle in the jungles of New York. The drivers of those vehicles rightfully feared for their lives and sought to push their way through the animals.
