Bush Administration ... CAN WE KILL A US AIRMAN TO GET OUR WAR?
 Advertisements [?]Then kill more people?

from the book from General Shelton.

"Hugh, I know I shouldn't even be asking you this, but what we really need in order to go in and take out Saddam is a precipitous event—something that would make us look good in the eyes of the world. Could you have one of our U-2s fly low enough — and slow enough—so as to guarantee that Saddam could shoot it down?"

The hair on the back of my neck bristled, my teeth clenched, and my fists tightened. I was so mad I was about to explode.

I looked across the table, thinking about the pilot in the U-2 and responded, "Of course we can . . ." which prompted a big smile on the official's face.

"You can?" was the excited reply.

"Why, of course we can," I countered. "Just as soon as we get your ass qualified to fly it, I will have it flown just as low and slow as you want to go."

Anything that exposes some of the crimes and **** ups of the Bush adm
is OK with me. He has enough rank to get on TV to promote his book hopefully
on the TV news circuit.

This guy endorsed Hillary and said he wouldn't vote for Gen Clark, his boss.

I never expect much from the Top Brass and believe the lens they use
to view reality and history is tainted.

Here's his bio

Now for the fun.

8. I posted this in a couple of threads but the Message
didn't get out. So I decided to post it on its own.

I want to know WHO Shelton talked to
it wasn't mentioned in the book but it had
to be someone close to Rumsfeld and very top
to his cabal..

ISN'T THIS TREASON?

3. I generally have a dim view of the professional officer class in the US, but
Edited on Sat Oct-16-10 10:21 AM by old mark
every so often there are a few really outstanding exceptions to the rule...

added: I see by the Wiki article he was ROTC, not a trade school officer, and that he has a lot of varied combat experience, including 4 bronze stars, a PH and a CIB. He was a real soldier, not a chair warrior...I bet a lot of the other generals really hated him.

I would trust what he says.

5. That incident apparently happened in 1997   Edited on Sat Oct-16-10 10:18 AM by mainer
during the Clinton, not Bush administration. I'd love to know which "administration official" that was. According to this:
http://www.commandposts.com/2010/10/without-hesitation /
it was not Berger, Tenet, Cohen, or Richardson...

Where is that lovely river?

34. I live in Scandinavia now
 Even the internet
can be something for
the novice to think he is
a member on this new way
of getting information on what is real.

There is an assault on the internet
because the lies you have seen with their lens
in the TV media and the other spankers
Lies have enough money and power
to infiltrate any media

We are trying to give you the truth
more than you already know.

AND AMERICANS ARE PUTTING THEIR LIVES
ON THE LINE AND FACE PRISON TERMS.

To let the truth come out.

Uh, wasn't this on Drudge or freerepublic today (Saturday)?

The person was Madeline Albright, the then-Secretary of State.

Damn.

I thought I had read this before.

Might have been,  I only caught this one.  Saturday I was up to my armpits in paint.  I had promised myself I was going to finish the spare room come he77 or high water ( which is why it needed paint in the first place).

The dump appears to have already started a high speed wabble, I wish I had more time to enjoy it but fall marches on and there I have lots to do outdoors still.

On a side note, wasn't it Mad Mattie'e dad who was Condi Rice mentor?   Pretty sure that is right but don't have time to check at the moment.

Poor Itchy carpet. Last I looked at the thread he was still taking heat on this post.

I can't find it, because freerepublic's "search function" uses "keywords" only.

Anyway, there was an article about a book that came out, or is just coming out, in which the Clinton cabinet discussed possible "diversions" to the incipient impeachment crisis of 1997-1998.

It was suggested that Big Bill rachet up the war in Iraq, which would keep the public mind on that, rather than on impeachment.

A member of the Clinton cabinet suggested they "sacrifice" a pilot by ordering him to fly in somewhere where the homocidal genocidal Saddam Hussein would have him shot down.

Thus creating a "reason" for Big Bill to bomb the Hell out of Iraq, getting impeachment off the front pages.

Other members of the Clinton cabinet were appalled at the suggestion, because surely the pilot would die.

They chastised the member who suggested this, suggesting instead that that member get some flight training, suit up, and do the job.

The member who made the suggestion was unidentified, but according to those familiar with the Clinton cabinet, to them, it seemed as if it had been Madeline Albright, the then-Secretary of State, who made the suggestion.

Damn.  I wish I could find that article.  It was on freerepublic yesterday (Saturday), and I read it circa noon or a few hours after.

I have to give credit when credit is due. I am happy that the goons actually looked into this story and brought the truth to light. Usually DUmmies eat up stories like this and quote them as Gospel Truth.

I just read his BIO and can't figure out why he would have endorsed Hillary for POTUS in 2008.
I also just read last night his story in Reader's Digest how he was paralyzed after falling off a tree and defied all the odds and walked again.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
