I wish we could put some of these runs in escrow.  we've lost some 1 and 2 run games

it was actually the 8th.

but if you saw the dodgers collapse in the 8th against the padres on thursday, you would be worried, too.

I think hitting manny after ethier worked out better than hitting ethier after manny.

ethier torched the league in august with an OPS of over 1100

LOL.  snyder hit a weak fly ball to left, but the run scored because juan pierre has no arm

Didn't we agree up thread that we were doing it for each series instead of each game?

Livan Hernandez allowed two runs through 6 2/3 IP, and the Mets survived Darren O'Day giving up two unearned runs in the ninth, winning 8-4.  Livan will go 200 IP and win 13-14 games this year.  The bullpen will be grateful.  On another note, CC Sabathia wnet 7 2/3 IP and didn't allow a run.  The Skankees are playing the Royals, so it's to be expected.

Anyone watching the Cubs/Brewers game tonight. The Cubs scored 4 runs  on 4 walks after the bases were loaded.  :rotf:

D-backs are already developing an unsavory pattern. Win the first game of the series and then lose the remaining games. That will make for a great season-ending record.  ::)

That was some pretty bad pitching.  Second time in a week that it happened, same thing in ATL/PHI game earlier.  Reed Johnson robbing Prince Fielder of a grand slam was pretty cool.  Incredible catch.

Reed Johnson was a great pick up for the Cubs at league minimum last year. :)

As was Edmonds, because I think the Padres got stuck with his salary last year even when the Cubs picked him up.  I'll be curious to see if they make any other crafty pick-ups this year.  They need to let the Rule 5 draft pick David Patton go.  He's wasting a roster spot at the moment.

The game saving catch.  I hope Dempster bought Reed a beer or a case after the game.

Today's Cubs home opener postponed due to weather.

I had tix to an April game in maybe 1997 that was snowed out.  Maddux was scheduled to pitch for the Braves, but thankfully they rescheduled it for the next day and got to see him from the bleachers on another cold & rainy day.

I kind of thought the game would get rained out.

Hmmm, I think I saw on Yahoo sports late this morning that there was a "PPD" next to the game.  Stupid erroneous websites! :censored:  I couldn't have listened this afternoon anyway, but thanks for the info. :cheersmate:
