cooking and baking primitives lusting

Oh my.

If one didn't know this already, the Lucinda primitive and the imperious primitive, the "Theempressof all" primitive, are holding down the fort--the cooking and baking forum on Skins's island--while Mrs. Alfred Packer is in mourning.

We all know the imperious primitive is a sour dour bitter old lady, but one finds the Lucinda primitive rather upbeat and engaging.

I am lusting after a roasted sweet potato and am fresh out!

What's your "I want it!" craving for the day?

2. I'd send you some if I could.

I planted a lot this year, but deer totally destroyed the plants, got nothing.

Before Thanksgiving, they were on sale here for 25 cents a lb, so I bought about $20 worth, like 80 lbs!

That will get me through the winter.

(Actually, I'm going to give about half of them to my sister next week when she comes down for a few days -- groceries are really high in the very small town in northern Michigan where she lives).

3. Awwww...thats a nice thought though! Sorry about the deer.

Wish I had enough ground to plant...we have a tiny lot so all i can manage is some heirloom tomatoes, peppers and herbs.

No food cravings for you today?

6. I had a big lunch, so it was soup and cheese toast for me.

After that, I had a couple of rum balls and spritz cookies. I'll be glad when the holidays are over and the temptations are fewer!

8. Ha! I had a recent craving for chocolate covered raisins.

So I ordered dark chocolate raisins from a friend's kid for a school fund-raiser. It took forever - so I ordered some yogurt covered raisins elsewhere too. I have them both and the craving passed after a few handfuls of dark chocolate ones. Not nearly as good as milk-chocolate Raisinetes. And I haven't even opened the yogurt ones.

10. I'm a raisin purist.

I just like them straight up.

Not in baked goods, not coated. Same with nuts. I would try dark chocolate raisins though. I ♥ dark chocolate!

9. About a month ago - I just HAD to have lox, bagels and cream chees.

I had just one and that cured the craving. Actually it's been decades since I've had lox. I am not so crazy about the texture anymore. Do you think if I did a quick sear/fry to firm up the texture, that it would work?

11. Yawp. I bet it would.

Mostly same flavor but without the soft texture?

Come to think of it, about three hours ago, franksolich had an insatiable craving, and went through the blinding snow, the howling wind, the subzero temperatures, the slashing ice, to get a quart of sour cream.

Once back home, franksolich grabbed a spoon and dined on about half that quart, as if ice cream.

I've got a yen for something that Carl can identify with--Stewart's Ice Cream.  Crumbs Along The Mohawk, to be specific.  'Course, I do have to get a half-gallon of Mint Cookie Crumble for my wife, too.  I'll be going momentarily.  Oh well!

I just noshed off a 1/2 quart of sour cream as a dip for crinkle-cut sea salt potato(e - Dan Quale) chips.
Yummy...

Frank,

searching "wiping while obese" brings up some serious and honest discussions on this matter.

I never thought of that.

Back when I was in college, there was an "underground" free newspaper, the Lincoln Gazette, put out by three members of the Communist Party-USA.

The paper lasted only a short time, as there was a split among the editors, one a Marxist, the second a Leninist, and the third a Trotskyite.  They each put out rival free newspapers, but the "circulation base" had fragmented, and none of those last more than a couple of issues.

Anyway.

In one of the issues of the Lincoln Gazette, there was a "factoid," pointing out that the "average" human being expels 11 tons of solid waste during his lifetime.

That's a lot of shit, and obviously there's some who put out even much more than that.

One supposes the gigantic primitive's put out a Mount Everest of it.

One also supposes that lefties in general put out double to triple the "average" amount.  :pokingpoop:
