And I think that you will find little disagreement with that statement, Jake, at least here.

I think if you guys stopped shouting at me, you'd find, that we disagree on things, but there are thing that there is common ground on.

However my attitude is not one of you are my enemy.

I don't hate capitalism.  I'm not a radical socialist person who believes that we can create a heaven on earth if only we do a few things.

I don't hate government either.  What I hate is bad government, encouraging people to do bad things.  You and I aren't doing that.  Our elected representatives from both parties are doing that, and they are using labels to divide us so that we don't pay attention to what they are doing.

Shouting is using all caps, we're not shouting.  We're asking you questions, we don't often get to meet a genuine DU moonbat.

Oh wow.

Hey dude, what's in the building now, in downtown Allentown, where Hess's used to be?

That was my favorite department store.

I miss it as well, though they knocked it down when I was 15.  It is PP&L plaza now.  Kind of lame replacement but nobody wants to go down town.

If politics is corrupt and it's no different on either side and they're all in it for themselves...why did you vote for the man that is the epitome of everything you claim to despise?

They all believed Dear Leader would be different.  He went out, talked populism like they do every 2 years, the left ate it up, and they mindlessly pulled the lever just like they do every 2 years.

Lather.
Rinse.
Repeat.

They'll do it again this year.  Every single one of the primitives who are saying they won't vote Dem because they've been lied to will vote Dem come November.  These are not individuals who can operate outside what they're told to do.

Dude. The problem is these people are trying to buy votes with other peoples money. Has little to nothing to do with who donated to them, that wouldn't change the "bring home the bacon" mentality.

Leaving out the government's ability to negotiate prices for drugs in Medicare Part D was a decision to buy votes?

From who?  Senior Citizens...you'd think you would cut out the donut hole and get the cheapest drugs you could if that was the case?

That sounds like a TEA Party attitude to me right there.

Now that government has thrown out the Constitution and Bill of Rights, anything goes. Yet everything the Liberal Democrats stand for and push for in this country is completely anti-Capitalism.  And the man I presume that you voted for is leading the charge.

Sounds romantic outside reality.

However...what is dividing people is political philosophy.  And the propaganda driven by a complacent media that is willing to whore itself out for one side over the other.

You...like the rest of the Liberals at your old home have been fed this for so long it's rooted in your DNA.

Did Hess's turn into a mall franchise now, or just evaporate?

I spent my first night in Allentown in an old hotel east of Hess's.

I agree the H1-b1 visas is an amazing thing.  When people are struggling to find a job you allow immigration and people to take knowledge to compete with you.

On illegal immigration, I've always said if you fined the businesses for hiring people, the illegals would have no jobs and no reason to come.

PP&L is still there.  It is still a sense of pride in the community.  Hess's went out of business.  They couldn't compete with the larger retailers.

If it is the Holiday Inn you stayed at, it is still there and nice.  The Hotel Traylor is a haven for crack heads.

Yet the party you support views them as potential new voters already accustomed to receiving everything they need from the public dole.

It was the Hotel Traylor; it was run down at the time, but not yet utterly decrepit.

They had a decent restaurant there.

I was new; I didn't know excresence about Allentown when I ended up there; it was an entirely new world to me, nothing known about it.

I ended up living near downtown, on 13th Street, although I worked out near Fogelsville.

I'm not calling you anything.  However, I question the politics of one who wishes to kill his fellow citizens over political disagreements.  Which is what both those men did.

no, you alluded to the point that since I think we should kill our enemies I and people who think like me are akin to Hitler or Stalin. A typical, but weak, attack the left uses for just about everything.

How do I know who our enemies are? First, they are the ones who attack us- so it's simple in a way. Second, you are the one calling the other side of the political isle the enemy, or were you just joking around by saying that you came here to talk with the enemy.

People who support our enemies, who your own B Obama now say are islamic extremeists, many of whom post on DU, are our enemies, however- the current rules of engagement don't allow us to go after them.

yet.

I live out by Dorney Park.  They are doing a decent job of restoring 13th street right now.  Calling it historic Allentown.

I'm getting hit with a lot of questions and accusations so it is a little overwhelming trying to respond to everyone.

I'm not your cartoon version of a liberal.  No candidate supports my belief system so I'm stuck making difficult choices each election cycle.  Like I said, both political parties like things the way they are.  You can become a millionaire as a public servant in either one.

In that case, both sides have the "cheap labor" view because Clinton had 8 years to change it and didn't.

One party wants to let them vote when they get here.  That's much, much worse.  One of the main reason Rome went bye-bye was their lax immigration policies.

I'd go over there and look for myself...but there are people at DU that throw darts at my picture and screen name.
