I'm out of here

Peace guys, it has been real. Just received a moderator message to stop being critical of the President. Funny thing is, I've been relatively supportive of the President over the oil spill, actually more supportive than I've been in about 6 months about most administration actions. Hell, even the tone of my criticism is tempered from what it was a few months ago. Evidently the site is taking another direction. Cool with me. Would rather walk out than to wake up like Debbie did or a few others did to some BOG celebratory orgy. I'm sure they will have one anyway, good for them, for a group of people supposedly getting what they want they sure are angry.

The message said you are free to leave. So be it.

Been real kids.

We live in interesting, times. We do certainly indeed.

Administrators, do with the account what you wish.

15. No. We need to purge dissent

What happens on a small forum like DU is uber critical for the success of our Chosen Leader, blessed be His name.

There may be yet another purge in the making.  Just before dinner I was looking at a thread which dealt with forming a labor party with unions and working folk. The topic has apparently gone down the rabbit hole. Fair enough it would be a violation of the TOS for Democrat Underground.  What surprised me was the how quickly it happened.  They have some hair triggers over there today.

Will AJ show up?  I am with the 60/40 crowd.  Long as he plays nice who cares?

Let us not forget what happened last time.......he came over here for what appeared to be a "civil converstion", then ran over to some liberal board that he is a mod on, and spent the next few days lying about how he was treated here......proving, of course that liberals lie......all the time.......

Well you do make an excellent point which I had forgotten about.

I am projecting this thread to disappear shortly:

You would have PRECISELY what exists today in Californication, New Jersey, and Connecticut - a bankrupt state, FORCED MASS-LAYOFFS, reduction of all community services like a firefighter to extinguish your meth lab fire, the paramedic that would breathe life into your grandmother after her 4th heart attack, AND, most importantly, a queer school teacher that will teach the wonderful experiences of anal sex, fisting, felching, and hamster anal insertions to your ten year-old chitlens.

Looks to me you would deserve all you get from paying ten dollar an hour employees 35 dollars an hour.

It forever amazes me that they truly believe money/wealth is conjured from nothing.
That if you pay someone a huge wage (that they crave for doing nothing) that money is simply stockpiled and waiting for them.

As stupid as it can get.

I'd say that your comment to another CC member, who is no longer a  member of DU is off-topic.

You and others like to crow about the lack of free speech over there, and blather on endlessly about inviting them over here for an "open" discussion, but on the rare occasion when actually that happens, you appear to endorse anything BUT "free speech".......

Therefore, it logically follows that the question remains.....do you believe in free expression here or not.  I'd argue that if the answer is no......then we should shut up about "free speech", and admit that we are, in a number of ways, no different than they......just different politics.....

You point and laugh at their lack of tolerance, and call them hypocrites.......yet are we not displaying the same lack of tolerance?

"Physician, heal thyself......."

You didn't. But you basically said you will reply to me any time you see me "to call out my BS". So you want to start something. You can't have peace. An otherwise tame topic, you want to make a fight. I make a point to stay away from you, yet you seek me out. Just stop it already. Have you not gotten your point across already? I left DU on my own. And if you get your jollies making fun of me, by all means do so on your own. But let others here have some peace. Everything doesn't have to be drama. And I am just sayin', and I feel pretty confident about it, people would like to move on. Since I am here, and will still be here, LET IT GO. Or at least PM people to make fun of me. No,she is not protected and will not be afforded any special privileges to be able to post here as some sort of "see we are tolerant" mascot.
We often have stated that and any DUmmy is welcome to register and post here as long as they follow the rules which includes not being trollish.

That can be changed if desired and do know that ZOT threads on FR can be fun and comical whenever someone posts a leftist view.

We just should be honest about that though and IMO only,if a person comes here from the DUmp and acts civilly despite disagreeing we should be honest to our word or at least say you can sign up here and not be banned at the first sign of leftism but expect to be treated harshly.

If someone were to do that to me?  I didn't leave a conservative board only to show up on a lib board and try to pass myself off as someone I am not.    I'm pretty consistent Doc.  I don't like turncoats and Soliel is one of them.  You are obviously more tolerant to libs than I am.  Frankly, it's tolerance of libs that has gotten us to where we are now.

Whitaker Chambers.  Oh wait.

I once read a psychologlical profile of Whittaker Chambers in, of all places, a long, detailed biography of the most fascinating man of the twentieth century, Henry R. Luce.

It didn't excuse people turning their coat, but it explained it.

Whittaker Chambers was from a rather modest background, and while he was a member of the Communist Party, he was hobnobbing with the Ivy League elite, the academic elite, affluent white liberals, the catered class.

He did yeoman's work for them as a Communist, but sooner or later it dawned upon him that no matter how good he was, he was never going to be accepted by the Alger Hiss-Owen Lattimore Country Club set.

And so he went to the other side, more accepting of diversity and utterly dismissive of "background" as a gauge of character.

There's a lesson in this.

Yeah, pretty much the story of the "insiders" versus the "outsiders."

You see this a lot on this side of the aisle, where there's plenty of conservatives disenchanted with the Republican party.

I made an analogy once, comparing it with the evolution of Russia during medieval times.

Circa the 1400s, Russia was faced with a stark choice: (a) to become an empire or (b) to be absorbed by Poland.

The same situation hold today, in regards to conservatives and the Republican party; will the Tea Party movement be absorbed by the Republican party, or will the Tea Party movement absorb the Republican party?

It's as good as watching a show on television.

Me, I don't care either way; it's just politics.

All I care about is that the Republican party with its subsidiary the Tea Party movement, or the Tea Party movement with its subsidiary the Republican party, ends up on top.

There are somethings I like the government doing, there are somethings I don't like it doing.  Frankly between the two parties every election I have a choice between what I view as different insanities.

I aligned with the democrats mostly over outside hemisphere foreign policy and trade issues.  I got pretty much the same deal.  Economically they are both different degrees of stupid to me.

Frankly, I'm not that worried, I feel there is about to be a game changer very shortly and this debate over R and D is going to be very different.

I believe in Austrian Economics.  I view both Republicans and Democrats as different forms of Keynsians.  Tax cuts vs. spending.  I view both as ridiculous Keynsian debt adventures.

I see a total collapse in the banking sector due to the debt issue.  The banks have gotten a fairly good deal.  They can over value assets and hid their true leverage ratios.  I fully expect that game to end abruptly and take us into a very, very interesting place.

And of course, since Republicans will not abide by any tax increases, and Democrats will not abide by spending cuts, they compromise and continue both tax cuts and massive spending.

The result is a huge deficit spending over years created a huge debt that we also have to pay interest on.

Different forms of Keynsians?  You equate putting money back into the hands of private citizens the same as taking more in taxes and throwing it into the wind?

If you cut spending and cut taxes at the same time, it is basic budgeting.  If you raise spending while you cut taxes you are engaging in Keynsian voodoo.

Ike built the highway system, he did it with a tax on gasoline.

FWIW, I agree with that point.  Taxes can be cut and spending reduced although I think we would probably disagree on where to make the cuts.

That's true.

All will have the choice to stand and fight together, or continue to argue and all will perish.

I get so tired of the blind worshipping that the Left exhibits for Obama and his Merry Band of Idiots. Not only are they blind, they are reckless with their words, attitudes and behavior, but are also convinced that Conservatives are out to destroy the country. All without any reflection upon their own actions.

I wish we could get rid of all the politicians and start with a clean slate, based upon a true desire to better the country....not to better themselves and fatten their bank accounts. Perhaps if the people took away the Congress critters lifetime benefits, those that wish to serve do it from a desire in their hearts and souls to serve the country, rather than to bask in the prestige and reap the benefits of being an elected Congress critter....
