Tools
« on: January 17, 2013, 04:01:16 AM »
...so a friend picked up a workshop full of tools the other day and pushed some off to me.

I paid $400 for this whole pile.

Did I get a good deal ?

A lot of planes there. I'd hope their blades are in decent condition.

Hell, the copper alone might be worth $400.

:???: I haven't seen an egg-beater drill in years! I don't know for sure but the copper, drills and the planes, should be worth that.

That's not actually copper - its the gas leads for the three oxy cutting torches at the top left of the pic.

Just the roll of wood augers is worth a decent penny. They'll run you some like $20 per bit.

The original cordless drill - no batteries required. I got a couple, and I love 'em.

Depending on make and model, those hand planes could be worth far more that what you paid.

You got a plumb bob and one of those grabby claw things... that's got to be worth some dough.

They're all Stanley planes - they're in Fair-Good condition. When I get around to restoring them some - I'll catalogue the model information.

Great score!  I love old hand tools. Good planes are getting difficult to find!

Indeed. Everything is electric these days - which is why I was pleased to get a pile of stuff that wasn't.

Those planes and the variable speed cordless drills on the top right will be great when the lights go off.  :tinfoil2:
