Why should I surgically remove another person's freedom of expression or speech? Even if I disagree with it?
I'll leave that shit to the liberals.
Hi, I'm a new to the forums but I noticed something, if you don't mind my input.
The thread is, "One way to make our point" and you're suggesting that the left wants to kill freedom of speech. That sounds a little absurd. I think maybe we should differentiate the political spectrum. "The left" is not MSNBC. Nor is it the democratic party. Those institutions are "centered" as one can only imagine them being. "The Left" is much more opposed to all sides of the political spectrum, as there is a lot of misery in this world most of which goes unnoticed, we need freedom of speech first and foremost. Otherwise we'd be communistic (more so than now, with State funding to produce growth and healthy regulations) but a much worse communistic society than Russia, as we would have no social services as a floor to stand on. Without freedom of speech and other little rights here and there, we'd be in a dungeon (worse than the Allegory Cave we're in now).
So how do you get your point across to a person of another spectrum? Try to base your argument off of what the Republicans have done, as in cold facts, as opposed to what we "deserve" because as often as it is touted, we rarely get what we "deserve" from either spectrum's. The worst thing you can do is insult them or their intelligence, that will lead no where and discussion is ruined immediately.
