Definitely obscure! A couple of these are going on my Halloween to-do list for next year.
-
When I was a tyke, Day of the Triffids scared me plenty.
-
With me, it was "Night of the Living Dead"...the original one, in B&W. I had a friend spending the night when it was broadcast on our local Creature Feature TV show at midnight back in the 70s. We stayed up to watch it and the ending still haunts me. Although the production values are so much better in today's versions, that one hit me hard. That poor guy fought so hard to stay alive all night and got shot in the head by rescuers. What an ending!

Although the Exorcist was pretty scary too. I don't think I was able to watch that with my eyes open until my 30s.

Well, I hope this list is better than Googleing "scarest movies ever". One is "28 Days Later". Got "good" reviews. Well, it was on the SciFi Channel last night. It started out OK, but, being the "typical" British SciFi fare it digressed into touchy feel-y crap (plus it had so many "holes" in the plot I don't know what was worse), so I quit watching, and went to bed.

I've actually seen Splinter
-
I've seen Splinter and Feast...both are OK. One of the scariest movies I've ever seen was The Descent. I screamed out loud in a couple of places during that movie...
-
Scariest movie I've seen is "Obama's America".

I liked that too, dixie. Good stuff.

The Descent was definitely a head scratcher, though.

I didn't realize it was based on a book. I'll have to look that up. Thanks!

The movie isn't even close. The book, being a typical Jeff Long, is messed up.....in a good way.
-
y'all have just one guess at the scariest movie for me....
-
The only one of these I've seen is Dead End, several years ago it was in heavy rotation on cable.
The others look pretty good.
Yellow Brick Road I think is still on Netflix and that was a really scary one and weird too.

Even when it is coming at you with mouth wide open, 7 rows of ragged sharp teeth?? I want to be the barnacle on that boat, when it happens..
